The racing is tons of fun, but it's a little short on content or progression atm. Hopefully that changes soon. I played it so much I almost ruptured my achilles tendon though. :)

a completely unjustified game for its $20, a game that requires such system requirements is nonsense. I don't understand why I need to buy an RTX 3080 for this game, where there is nothing but soap graphics

So far it's great! but needs a lot of work which I know we will see in the future. I am not using a Quest, I am using a Oculus Rift S, very old but still works to play this game well. I've never played Rival Stars racing ever, and the VR game was my introduction to the game series, and so far it's been so fun, never seen a Horse game give us something like this and I can tell I'll be picking this up more as more updates come out. However there is a known bug that is bugging me! but it only mainly seems to happen when i play the cross country maps? and only sometimes during flat races, but occasionally one of my hands/controllers drifts out of area and thinks it somewhere else whilst i'm holding the reins, if i let go and move my hand they reset and fix, but it happens a lot during cross country, I don't know if this is just because my VR is old or if it just a bug, but if this is fixable please do so! If anyone's really on the fence about getting it, I say do it! it is really fun and such a different experience, and honestly I find it such a great source of escape almost as I get so focused on the races and cross country I can't wait to see more content though! and I hope to see this bug fixed soon! that is if it is a bug..

VR Horse Racing Game – Review So far, I really like the game. I finished it without rushing in just under 7 hours. First off, I appreciate the concept — I've never played a horse game before, so this felt like a fresh and unique experience in my personal VR gaming world. Now, on to the criticisms: Controls: Smooth locomotion on the farm feels nice, but it's a bit too slow, especially the turning speed. There's an odd imbalance between slow and fast motion: when I try to make slight adjustments — for example, while brushing the horse — the movement can feel too aggressive. It often results in a frustrating back-and-forth just to get into the right position. Characters: It would be nice to have a full 3D avatar for the player character, not just floating hands. NPCs: This is supposed to be a farm, right? Why does it feel so empty? Some non-interactive NPCs doing basic chores would help a lot with immersion. More is always better here, even if interaction isn’t the focus. Animals! A dog or some wildlife roaming around would add life and atmosphere. Right now, it feels oddly lonely. Graphics: The visuals are very basic. They serve their purpose for gameplay, but they fall short of modern standards. The farm looks too clean and artificial. The free roaming area is too small and not particularly impressive. Overall, the graphics are below average and need a visual upgrade. Progression: The core gameplay loop is: win races → earn money → breed/train a new horse → repeat. Some simple dialogs are presented through portraits, text, and voiceover — feels linear and, honestly, the story seems AI-generated (ChatGPT, perhaps?). Long-term motivation is lacking. Right now, you need money to breed, but to get money you have to race the same tracks again and again, which quickly becomes boring. So breeding becomes boring as well. Multiplayer: I don’t think I encountered any real players — just AI with labels like "Player." On the plus side, there’s a good variety in tracks. But there’s no real challenge, and multiplayer doesn’t impact singleplayer at all (no income, no progression). As it stands, it makes no sense. Conclusion: Graphics are too simple — the farm and tracks need a visual polish. The horses themselves are fine. The world feels sterile — it needs more life, NPCs, animals, animations. The core mechanics are okay, but races become repetitive and unengaging fairly quickly. Unlocking more tracks should be better tied to breeding or progression, especially at higher levels. Multiplayer needs better integration. It could be part of the endgame if there was a feedback loop (e.g., rewards like money, unlocks, cosmetics, new tracks). That would give players a reason to care. 🎮 Comparison: Compared to other racing games (four wheels vs four legs), this one falls short in graphics, sound, and mechanics. Just look at Assetto Corsa (often on sale for 5 bucks, full mod support) — compare for yourself. Why still a positive review? Because it's VR horse racing game — and that was new to me. I had a good time with it, despite its many shortcomings. There's definitely some goodwill involved in this recommendation, but it's somehow deserved.

Overall - i recommend this game. For less than 6 hours i completed whole content that is available at the moment, even farming for gold wasn't such an issue, though breeding 6 and 6 is costing more than 600k is really hefty. I would suggest adding graphics control, shaky hands (really sensitive at some times) and additionally i cannot find how to change name of the ranch and logo or it's just random? Mostly i'm pretty excited for the coming updates, it gave me reason to be more active and use VR finally and yet - i hope to see update with exact date in coming days.

Excited to see what they do with this game in the future! I'm having a lot of fun playing with my ponies and riding. I'd love to see the option to beef up the graphics for those with capable hardware. The mobile game has such a beautiful pasture for example :) Maybe some more interactability to replace some of the menus, the barn could have a tack room for customizing? Just some thoughts! I know a lot of the horse girls will want all of that really granular interaction lol! Anyway, very happy with what we have so far

The riding controls make sense and has been the best VR horse riding I've experienced to date. - Petting the horses is fun! - No super long intro like the desktop/mobile version. - Cross country is a little clunky but still felt very good! - Riding feels natural, especially when you turn your head and naturally the reins. - Get rewarded for brushing/petting/giving treats to your horse. Worked better than expected using the Quest 2 via Steam Link wireless. I look forward to some more optimisation but so far, not disappointing. Will definitely play more.
Experienced on the Meta Quest 3
You can view my gameplay & early impressions here: https://youtu.be/XWS5wpMLADI Don't let the fact that this game is targeted towards horse girls stop you from picking it up yourself and enjoying it. If you're a real man like me, you don't care what others think. Can I be a horsegirl in VR? Sure. In fact, real men enjoy racing, nurturing, and breeding horses. We're the original vaqueros or buckaroos as the simpletons would say. This game is enjoyable for all ages. This is a cozy game, but there's enough challenge here for it to still be enjoyable. The game is simple, but it has enough depth in the different mechanics. It does take a while to get used to the controls, but they are immersive. You'll be pulling up and down on the reigns to charge up your horse and then pushing the reigns forward and back to gain speed. You can't really turn if you're going too fast. You turn by picking up the reign on one side. I do have some criticisms. There is allegedly snap turn, but it was only smooth turn for me outside of the introductory area. I prefer smooth turn, but the problem was that it was too slow. Also, a comfort vignette was on by default in the cross country race. I looked at the settings and didn't see any option to remove it, but it turns out such a setting only exists while you're in the actual race (this setting should be available at all times). Game is running on the Unity Engine. On my RTX 3080, I was getting a steady 90 fps. You also have either teleportation or smooth locomotion available. I did not experience any serious issues or bugs, but there's some lack of polish, like being able to phase through the horse stable door instead of having to open it. Look, you get to pet the horse and give it it's favorite snack, while brushing it with it's favorite brush. The moment that sold me was when I bred my first mare with a stud and got the cutest foal. My heart melted. Rate 8/10.
I bought this game! I am very fresh into the game still but wanted to take a moment to pause and write a review for this amazingly niche gem of a game. To preface, I am very comfortable with VR controls and find the controls for the game standard and easy to navigate. To start, I just went into the barn to meet my new horse and after stroking its face and having it nuzzle into my arm, I had to put down my VR to cry for a good 5 minutes. I recently was forced to sell my own beloved horse for financial reasons, and the personality of the horses in this game just feel SO real. They each have favourite petting/scratching spots and act accordingly. It was magical to feel that and for the $25 alone, if this was JUST a horse petting simulator, I feel it would be more than worth it just to feel and enjoy that experience. Brushing and grooming your horse is also very enjoyable, as is the treat feeding and breeding aspect. The racing is SO fun. It takes a lot more skill and expertise to navigate than the simple riding in the phone app (in a good way). It does work similarly, though (sprint meter, start boosts etc.). You feel like one of the jockeys and can easily look over your shoulder to see where the other riders are. I look forward to the addition of even more maps and riding experiences! I am still quite early into this game, but LOVE what it has to offer currently and where it appears to be headed and I genuinely can't wait to see more. I think devs deserve to be praised for trying new things and putting in the effort (especially when the market for this particular game may not be very large) and I know this can be quite a picky community of niche gamers, so I thank you for taking the chance on this one. I can't wait to sink more time into this and enjoy such a beautiful little getaway into my farm <3
