it's pretty good but i feels fhm are way to expensive!

If you're looking for a realistic experience, this game is not for you. Play this game if you have a hockey itch to scratch. Trades: CPU will lowball the f@ck out of you and never accept a trade unless you lose something big. Shopping for great players will get you 3rd round picks max. You will NEVER get a 5 star player on your team unless you draft him or start with him because CPU expect you to trade half your team + 3 1st round DP, but also can't manage their salary cap so whatever you offer they "cannot accept this much salary", even if you trade for less. But if you shop for McDavid they'll offer you a 3rd liner and a 5th round DP. Contracts: Players will high ball the f@ck out of you. Christian Dvorak asks for 5-6M/year at the end of the first season. Hello????? You actually have to swap your bottom half roster because of this, which creates a kind of Power Creep where after 4-5 seasons there are no players below 3 stars. every 25 y/o + with 2.5 star ratings or less ask for crazy money and are replaced by randomly generated draft picks. Objectives: Your team owner gives you objectives, sometimes. Sometimes they make sense, most times they don't. Why would I acquire Line Chemistry for Caufield when the only option that isnt on my team is a 1.5 star rating nobody that plays in the ECHL with 15 points per season. Waivers: I lost half my team on my first season because players that I were on my AHL farm team were placed on waivers automatically because they had "minor league assignments". Some were 30 year old players. The game does not help you with this. You can only drop players to your farm teams, not minor leagues. Injuries: You have to lower the frequency setting otherwise you have an injury every week. Games: The live "play" or whatever is ugly and simplistic. Better to sim every game. The players' GR (Game Rating) is useless. Yes it tells you that a player is not playing well, but that's it. Whats the problem? The line chemistry? The role? The tactic? His stats? The matchup? You also have an "Offensive" and "Defensive" rating which makes no sense. You give an offensive role to a forward and he will have a 58 rating in defense. DUH. But that drops his overall performance and impacts their development. For 11th game in the series honestly its disappointing, but in Commissioner Mode it's fun. I will keep playing, but I won't change my review until the game is actually fun and realistic without "cheating".

Awesome Game, Some things are buggy, but if you put that aside, its amazing, the depth of this game is far beyond anything EA has done with the NHL series. I recommened you buy this.

Absolutely a stupendous hockey sim, I enjoy the fact that in historical mode you can bring over Russians much earlier, and even stop teams from relocating.

This game sucks compared to EHM tbh. I just simmed an entire period where neither team recorded a shot on goal, and the game ended 5 shots to 10 total, just insane. The players are literally doing nothing half the game. I don't know how anyone can recommend or enjoy this game. There is not one instance of a player in the NHL standing motionless in front of the net with the puck without shooting or passing for 10+ seconds, yet it happens 10+ times a period according to this game.

Extremely disappointing yet again. 3rd year in a row they can't figure out the scaling on Mac. Can't play for more than 10 minutes before the unfixable fuzzy text and images gives you a migraine. The development team assigned to FHM is woefully more inept than the OOTP devs.

Has all the elements to be an amazing game, but broken as hell. You can waste hours upon hours on a save only to have it crash and become unplayable. The team is not very good at fixing your save files either as multiple attempts to reach out have gone unanswered. Really want to like this game but the constant crashes and lack of support is pretty lame. Hopefully someone takes their idea here and uses an engine and support team to make it work. Of the 155 hours I have on record I'd say half of that is starting new leagues again after previous save files have become unplayable.

This is the second version I've owned since its disastrous release ten versions ago and honestly, I can't in good consciousness recommend this game especially at full price. I am going to start out by saying that I have owned 20 versions of OOTP over the years and I fully acknowledge that this game is not that, nor will it ever be. That said, throughout its development all that supporters heard was "give it time. The game will get better year to year. Its not OOTP because we are "X" number of years behind that one." Well, here we are, 11 releases deep and this game has many glaring issues. First, I am currently playing a save in the 80's. An over abundance of penalties through the game are "Kneeing" penalties. Coincidental minor kneeing penalties. Double minor Kneeing/charging penalties. They just keep happening and happening. After the completion of the recent 1987-88 season I attempted to offload a problematic player. Since it was close to the draft I shopped him for picks. I was offered a 6th rounder, and neglected to look at the year associated with it. After the trade was made I realized that I'd traded for a 1987 draft pick in 1988. What???? If you try to play in "Commissioner" and uncheck the commisioner mode box, it will be checked again when you return to the options screen, and things that you can do in commissioner mode such as editing parts of the NHL, or changing a players jersey number will randomly be available or unavailable. And then lets get down to the absolute worst thing about this game: the UI. It is so god awful. Everything that you try to do just seems to be more difficult than it should be. What seem like important screens seem buried through other options. And let's not forget the MASSIVE drive a truck through it space between the "Name" column and the first stat column if you play at a higher resolution. This is the 11th version of this game.. We can even call it the 10th version if you want to discount the first year where the lead dev killed not one but two annual releases for OOTPD. This game should be soooooo much farther along than it currently is. Do better.

This game is only for the most diehard daydreaming hockey fan. Same problems as before. - Trades are stupid hard for the player, unless you 'cheat' and trade for players immediately after they are drafted. There is no 1st, and a prospect for a top rental, you need 3 first round picks or a top 5 drafted player to have any chance. The AI will always retain salary and it will have no impact on the trades (makes having to spend 3 firsts on a top player with a lot of years worth it). - Goaltending AI still dumbfounding - Maybe I'm doing something wrong but I have the best GAA most years but never a high save percentage. NEVER. Even with 5 star goalies. And the most offensive players tend not to score as much as soon as their on my team. I still win, but its weird that its always like that - Some of the GM requests are not only stupid but impossible, like for example currently you have to draft a guy the day BEFORE the draft, good luck with that! - All these years and these hockey experts dont know there is a president's trophy and its not nothing to hockey fans - Media relations is a bit stupid and doesn't really seem to effect the team. Sometimes its really hard to get a good relationship unless you just always agree with everything they say - The cap never goes up which makes a lot of contracts a lot worse than they really are (there's no relief on the back end cause its always the same percentage of the cap) - The AI with free agency can be strange, suddenly top players are available for half the price in August cause for some reason no team wants them (they asked for too much but as the price drops, the interest should increase and it seems it doesn't) - The draft has always been really good the first 3-5 years and then its just sucks, its like there's one good player a year after that, making late round draft picks, even 3rds, pretty useless. I don't see a lot surprises or disappointments, there should be more variability. - I seem to have a lot of players whose ratings dont match their production and they ask for money like they are rated, not by how they've produced - RFAs have little leverage in this game, just wait and the prices will fall significantly. I do my free agency in august - Can anyone think of more? I'm sure I'm forgetting stuff. And why isn't something like this available on apple and android? Seems stupid to me. Have to use my other laptop instead of my main chromebook. - I don't think there's enough interest in this series to expect anything more than a roster update from year to year. There seems to be very little development. Save your money if your tight, especially if you have an older version
