Summary: If you are a PC gamer, this game probably gets stale quickly as you are level capped and fighting the same mobs hoping for the required upgrade parts to drop. If you come from the mobile version of this game, this is a great conversion.
Fun parts of the game
-interesting combat
-discovering and exploring new area and seeing new bots.
-getting new bots
-getting new abilities and boosters
-getting new AI perks for bots
-trying different bot combinations
Unfun parts of the game, the whole leveling up process.
-getting loot that does nothing except allows your bots to level up.
-getting loot that are you don't need (i.e. so many hats as quest rewards)
-grinding for gold (which is needed for everything but comes slowly)
-grinding for boat parts while your bots are level capped by the boat level is the worst.
Majority of the loot in this game does nothing except being required for leveling up. Which is not very exciting. There are lots of "gates" that prevent you from progressing through the game. These feel like leftover design decisions from this game's mobile gaming roots.
After about 20 hours into the game, I realized that I'm probably not going to finish the game unless I put about 100+ hours grinding through it. I do like game. It has a solid foundation. There's fun to be had. It's just, unfortunately, not quite tuned for PC gamers.
Update: Played a bit more, having the bot levels stuck at level 15 until I grind through 3 boat upgrades was the final straw for me. I wanted to like the game, I really do. But these arbitrary gates wore out my patience. Changing my recommendation to not recommend, at least for PC gamers.

Played the mobile game years ago and loved it. This is a big improvement and they've shown a willingness to listen to the players adjusting drops and endgame grind based on player input.

Gameplay is fun enough, but the grind is unbearable. You will be doing the same battles and scavenging for hours on end for mere crumbs of progression, and I haven't even reached level 20 yet, which is apparently when it really gets bad. I have to actively force myself to keep playing.
