You just found out your childhood crush who turned you down is now working above you at work. What should you do? Why confess to him again as an adult, of course. This could never go wrong. Spoiler alert, it goes wrong. His reply; well... you two could take this conversation to a hotel. You are "saved" by another childhood friend (love interest #1 Ayato) who comforts you as you cry. Time jump forwards, and now all your old childhood friends (love interests) have taken you to the rooftop for a fireworks display. When you head back to your room to grab some liquid courage someone tells you to get over your silly childhood crush. Who could that be but... insert your choice of love interest.
If you ignore how silly the premise is and how naive the mc is the story can be rather fun. I've always enjoyed voltage stories and have even read this one on love365 too. They have two more love interests on their app but as that doesn't really have anything to do with this game unless they add it in a future dlc I'll ignore that for now. I've officially finished my first character so it is time to review.(13 hr mark review) I have finished my second character and have added them to the review. (27 hr mark review)
Ichiya Misono - the unfriendly lone wolf
Ichiya isn't really your friend. He's mean and rude. He was basically your bully as a kid. Yet, for some reason you let him hangout with you and now he's aggressively flirting? Whatever could it mean? I started with him because he was my least favorite boy from the prologue. I'm not the biggest fan of jerks but he did grow on me a little. The story has some nice moments between the two and we get to learn more about his childhood throughout his stories. We went from hating this character to eventually becoming his fiance. The story; though full of cliches, spelling mistakes, and whimsy, was still full of that romantic fluff and was easy to follow.
You find out pretty early on that as a kid he locked you outside on a rainy day and stole your favorite stuffie (I'm pretty sure he didn't mean to lock the door and it's pretty clear he stole your stuffie because you basically implied you didn't want to hang out with him.) So, you quickly let him know that you are not interested in dating him in any way. That's cool with him though, because he doesn't want to date you cause he's romantically interested in you. No, he wants to date you because he knows you hate him and won't fall in love with him. Why does that matter? Well, because he needs a fake girlfriend to get his current ex-girlfriend to understand they are over. You try to refuse but when your crush witnesses you getting kissed by Ichiya well you are somehow convinced to join his scheme (as you can see you are kind of a pushover). Days go by and eventually you agree to go to his apartment just the two of you (why you think it's a good idea to go there just the two of you I'll never know). He gives you your old stuffie and you think maybe you were wrong about Ichiya (Ha!). Then the next thing you know you are pushed down onto a couch and he's above you loosening his tie... and in walks his ex. She storms out. He says you two have accomplished your goal and you fulfilled your job. You are pissed and still have to work with him. Eventually you two make up and have to finish this work project that's due date is creeping ever closer.
If that sound like fun to you than Ichiya is definitely the route for you!
Makoto Morimachi - the loyal older brother
Makoto is the older brother of Riku and acts like an older brother to you too. He's sweet and is always there for you. Well, when you return to your room to find it flooded Mako is quick to offer his and Riku's apartment up as temporary housing for you. Your crush asked you to get Mako on board with joining your work project. Working with your "brother" and helping your crush, how could you refuse? Honestly I probably would have read Mako's route last as I'm usually a sucker for the sweet characters, but the fact that you used to date Riku kind of just ruined it for me. I still enjoyed all the fluff and the way he would do the kindest things without trying to take any credit. Same problems with this route, cliches, spelling mistakes, and sometimes too much whimsy.
You have been turned down twice by your crush, and yet again you try to be what your crush wants in this route. Girl we don't need another Juliet here. No means no. Move on. What sucks is he kind of plays with her in this route and then they try to play him later as an okay guy that you still think of as a friend. Don't even get me started on the later story where Mako has a neighbor that gives you hickey and we for some reason semi-forgive that guy too. Mc lets things go too far and lacks some communication skills. Anyways, Mako gets to join you at work as he makes a chocolate that can change flavors and you get to complain about how your not succeeding in work. Totally fair. Just, ignore the fact mc finds out Mako might (definitely) has feelings for her and freaks about it. Mc has to get her crush to see her as a mature woman.
If that sounds like your cup of tea then Makoto is the route to read!
