Couldn't even beat it with a walkthrough. Maybe I'll try again in 13-2 more years. However you calculate that.

Great game, great villain, superb Music (probably my favorite OST from the trilogy), good enough plot.
The level design is fine except for a couple of frustrating levels where it's pretty much impossible to avoid enemies so If you want to go back to a treasure or some other reason you will probably have to fight, thankfully the combat is still fun and the Paradigm system feels better than in XIII.
Why the bad review? The game is unplayable unless you mod it with a fix pack, just in the starting sequence I had this game crash 6+ times and had it crash on the final boss (which mind you is a pretty long boss fight).
The game has interesting side content which I would have love to try out but couldn't due to its constant crashes even with the fix and though I doubt it hopefully SE fixes this one day.
Pretty good game but completely ruined by its port performance.
Play it only if you are reaaally patient and reaally liked FFXIII and want to play the whole trilogy.

crashes on load. I knew i Probably wasn't going to like this one, but i thought i'd at least get to play it. There's probably mods to fix it, not sure if it's worth it. I've never had a game crash make steam crash too. whoa

Crashed after long sequence at start. Lost 22 minutes. Can not get it to skip his part with the skip option. Odd combination of controller and KB.

It does not run. It is broken.
Square Enix is a vile company that refuses to patch this game.
UPDATE: I can only make it work with fan patches, but it runs way too hot on the CPU, Volume is broken with voices too quiet. Frame rate is choppy.
Disgusting.

I DO recommend this game BUT at a price: Let's get into it -
First off, download the 4gb patch!!!! I found it in a discussion post for this game. Follow the directions, its a pretty easy download. That fixes A LOT of the crash problem. Secondly, the game's audio will buzz on start up. Go into your audio settings on your PC and disable the "special audio" or whatever its called. That will fix the buzzing.
Okay, now that you have gone through a million steps to play this game, just know its a nice sequel to the first. It continues the story but with a twist. It can be a bit confusing starting out the game and fighting the main bad guy but only to find out the main character is missing? Anyway, that is a spoiler for the first game so I won't get to into it.
If you haven't played the FF13 trilogy, this is a good time to do it as I don't think there will be a remaster anytime soon.

My first Final Fantasy on the PS3, which also became my favorite one in the XIII trilogy.
Funny how this side game that barely has Lightning in it is the best game. The game is a much better improvement of the previous installment. You can switch roles in Paradigm Shift faster without the members switching to them individually (thank God), the pacing is a little better, the party members remain the same, and... it has Pokémon in it? What?
Funnily enough, this game also taught me how to play Poker in one of the DLCs.
Though, I do have to mention that this is a bad port. So many bugs and crashes, and Square won't even bother to fix it. They'd rather promote the soundtracks if they're on sale. Thankfully, the community got us covered with guides on how to fix the port and how we can add mods into it.
Not a lot of mods to get, but most of them are QoL, which I appreciate a lot.

i can see why the rating on this game is so bad, it keeps crashing and the framerate drops are absurd.
the game itself is fun, but the random crashes make it not so.

Most reviews are right about the crappy errors. Took me hours to fix. However, once fixed, the game is enjoyable and the story is pretty good.
