Devs: please make the run button a toggle, it ends up creating muscle tension for me holding run constantly since you have to move around so much. That was nearly my only complaint. That and idk why such slow movement in the "extra" mission # 1, that was painful. With that out of the way: this game is amazing. Get this game if you like retro horror. I've always loved pixel horror and this was the ultimate pixel horror stories collection. Remember that trashy horror feeling in Zombies Ate My Neighbor? There is a lot of this feel here, including the music. Also a lot of the eerie feeling from games like the Chzo Mythos series. I feel like not even being able to see the faces of the characters sometimes makes it even creepier, leaving things to the imagination I guess. There is a lot of creepiness, I got intense chills several times. Also some other, deeper, surprising emotional moments. I had to go see my partner several times after a story and be like, oh my god, this and that just happened. If you have any horror sense and reflex you'll probably be able to survive the nights most of the time. If you die the game saves and skips to the next story. To unlock the ending(s) you have to survive them all, but you'll cycle around to those you didn't clear once you've gone through them all so don't fret about it. The stories are so well designed and diverse. The dev loves to play on your expectations, as you'll know if you played Anglerfish. But it rarely feels unfair just to mess with you. I won't say more on that topic, but it was amazing throughout. Do be aware that it might feel like there is a lot of walking involved sometimes, you truly must immerse as the security guard discovering weird things slowly at times, like a new horror movie every time. But I'm not a patient man yet I rarely felt annoyed about it. You don't really ever feel like the game is wasting your time. Plus, "press X to say hey" is both pretty funny and fitting the scary mood, depending on the moment. Genius. My favorite stories were
god, hard to say, so many. I LOVED that there was a kaiju story. Loved the dead band story with the song at the end. "THE END" was also extremely striking. Loved the one where it turns around and you become a monster who has to feed.
Honestly loved most of them so much for being so varied in gameplay and subjects, thank you for an amazing experience.
