Yuri is Waifu.
This game does some things exceptionally well, and others a bit mediocre compared to other similar titles in the genre. For those who may not pay attention to the dates, this game released before the Korean hit Five Hearts Under One Roof, but after the Chinese FMV boom that spawned from Love is All Around and Knowledge or Know Lady. For being one of the first Chinese style Korean themed dating sim FMV, it is pretty good, especially cinematography wise, which blows many modern Chinese FMV out of the water. But mechanically speaking it lacks some of the polished features that have become ingrained in newer titles.
The short recommendation is that if you like veteran fan of FMV games, and/or you really like Kdramas and Korean settings. This is a great game to add to your list. The game is pretty well priced for the high level of quality it offers.
The long review is that this game tries to adapt the Chinese format while trying to make some of its own innovations, some land better than others. Cinematography is fantastic, and the story is genuinely pretty interesting. All that said, with the way this story was written you will largely only be interacting with the girls sequentially, with each chapter being dedicated to a single girl, with the occasional cameo from the other girls. I think this is more realistic, but from a gameplay standpoint a bit more boring because the competition between girls in other games makes the girls feel a bit more dynamic and interesting. The journey of the game is really good, but the endings are rather curt, and going for a specific girl ends the game on her chapter. You will need to let fate ride its course to see some of the later girls and chapters. I do like that it marks heart increases as "Destiny" instead of affection given the setting. The story writing feels way more Kdrama than most FMVs, and that's a good thing in many instances, but don't expect many absurdist funny moments like in StoryTaco games. Its just meant to be a somewhat serious story about attempting to change a ruined man's fate.
Given there are not many Korean FMV games out (at the time of writing, I know StoryTaco is making more), I would say this is a genuinely pretty good one worth your time and money if you are a fan of the genre. It is far more approachable compared to less Chinese-style FMV games like Motesolo and Love too Easily. But long term I hope this game can represent the baseline of what Korean FMVs should offer, and that Root3Games continues to learn and improve upon the mechanics offered in other Chinese FMV so that future games can blow this one out of the water.

This FMV could have been so much better. It's a decent length, around 3 hours or so. At the time of this review, I haven't finished all endings. I'm guessing another 3-6 hours to watch all cutscenes and complete the game.
There's a few reasons why I'm giving this one a negative review.
- The menu and UI are very plain and there's no music.
- Each chapter is a standalone story, making it feel as if this is multiple different games. You rarely see other characters in different chapters other than their own chapter, further taking away the unity of the game.
- I do not like how this game is structured. The game just randomly ends when taking certain routes. You'll have to play to understand what I'm taking about. It doesn't make sense. I guess they are endings?
- The item exploration mode (when you inspect stuff) is just terrible... that alone almost had me give this a negative review. The way it's incorporated in the game is completely unnecessary and gratuitous. The MC merely picks up the object and looks at it for 5-10 seconds, doesn't say anything, and places it back where it was. That's it. I was very irritated every time it made you inspect items. It was completely pointless.
I liked the characters and that's about it. Everything else was poorly put together. Only give this FMV a try if it's on sale
