For what I assume is a 1-man team, it's fun.
It's the price of a hot-dog, I got no complaints.

A little gem of a game. Hyperspacer is less repetitive and less linear then I had initially thought. A nice suprise are the branching routes through space and not being locked to a single planet at a time. Missions actually direct you to different places (planets, moons) and the environments and encounters are varied.
Space combat is basically the same as ground combat, but uses different statistics and equipment. When on a planet you basically prep your ship for the next journey through space. Do quests, kill aliens, bandits and enemy factions. You upgrade your personal equipment and your ship, or replace your old ship for a new one. When you do a number of missions you will level up and increase one of your skills, which govern how well your character performs in certain areas (combat, scanning, mining, etc.).
Be sure to hold on to things like research data, ores, alien trophies - these can be turned in for mission rewards.
