I like the concept and its almost like a weird rogue-like BUT the Text used to describe things often don't make any sense at all and sometimes its just straight up in an Asian language (I'm not a language connoisseur nor do i care what it is because its not English and i have the language set to English). i also feel like the game doesn't actually give you that much freedom on what you do so you end up making the same configurations every time making each phone near identical, plus when you do choose upgrades the rating somehow goes down making it better to just never apply upgrades but THEN its still somehow wrong and i just don't understand a fucking thing that's going on. Sadly it took me too long to realise how bad this game was and now i have too many hours to refund it, that being said i'm going to try anyway because unless this game gets changed i would't recommend at all

As for now i can't recommend the game at all. Game looks like an Early Access but it is a full game with missing content. I had no issue if it would be EA but as for know it is unplayable for me, because one of the issues i have is nothing gets explained. You get thrown into the game with no explanation and it is a work and try which makes absolutly no fun. Don't get me wrong it is a great concept for a game but it needs a lot of updates to actually be a good game.

Buggy UI with a confusing interface and configurations doesn't feel like a finished game more like early access at best refunded the game don't waste your time or money only positive is that its a good concept for a game just poorly made.

I really wanted to like this game, it has a lot of great customisation and fun tycoon vibes, its not too easy and the different markets force you to grow in different directions (Elderly market heavy countries benefit you off the bat cus they need cheap upgrades only). Getting more products and the feeling of improving quality is fantastic, much like A Hundred Days Winemaking Simulator. Unfortunately, it's held back by a lack of quality-of-life changes and some simple glitches that make developing several phones feel awful. When designing a phone, there's no way to save a design to edit it later, making developing several phone lines difficult unless you copy-paste colour values. Very finicky and clunky, and the feature to Outsource Phones is a great addition to give you extra incoming, except it edits the phone in your main design, making you have to save design values in advance if you want to keep a design. The numeric pad also often slides off the phone screen or doesn't scale, looks awful. I can accept the game's somewhat-simple style if it felt like there was simply more care put into the game. 4/10, lots of potential but a dropped ball imo.

It's shocking how poorly researched this game is! On their "world map," Ukraine is placed in Asia instead of Europe. This isn't just a minor mistake—it's a glaring display of ignorance and disrespect toward an entire country. Developers, open a geography book at least once before releasing a product.

I like that it's a tycoon game about developing smartphones but beyond that this game is a let down in every category. Options are neither realistic enough to be believable nor wacky enough to be fantastical, the interface is buggy and doesn't know what language it wants to be half the time, the music cuts out at random, and the phone design system is very annoying to use. On a subjective note, this game is ugly. Visually it feels sterile, the audio screams corporate advertisement, and the interface feels like a junior developer project from 2010. It has no style, no cohesive look or feel in general, and generally comes across as an asset-flip mobile game; even if it isn't. Very fun concept, but falls short in every way
Interesting Concept Hampered by Frustrating Controls (Refunded)
]h2]Initial Positive Impressions
I was genuinely excited by the core concept of Mad Smartphone Tycoon. Building and managing your own smartphone company felt like it had a lot of potential for engaging and strategic gameplay. I enjoyed the initial decisions and could see the depth the game could offer.
The Major Issue
Unfortunately, the controls proved to be a significant roadblock. Navigating menus, making selections, and managing different aspects of the business felt clunky and unintuitive. This made even simple tasks frustrating and detracted from the overall enjoyment of the game. I became super dizzy from the phone's clunky rotation controls.
Reason for Refund (After 44 Minutes)
The poor control scheme ultimately led to my decision to refund the game. It severely impacted my ability to enjoy the core gameplay loop and made the experience more frustrating than fun.
Current Recommendation
In its current state, I cannot recommend Mad Smartphone Tycoon to most players due to the significant issues with the controls.
Potential for the Future
Despite the current issues, I would definitely consider repurchasing the game if the developers address and improve the control scheme. The underlying concept is strong and has the potential to be a very enjoyable tycoon game.
Who Might Still Enjoy It
Players with a high tolerance for clunky controls or those willing to wait for future updates might still find some enjoyment in the game's core mechanics.
Overall Verdict
Refunded due to frustrating controls, but I will be keeping an eye on future updates and potential improvements. Definitely Wishlisting it

Really interesting concept but needs some more work before it can do well. If you enjoyed Game Developer Tycoon or whatever it was called, this is basically the same but with mobile phones and you get to design how the phone looks. Some really cool ideas here but it needs a few things before I'd consider it ready: - A good portion of the UI elements don't have English translation and still display Mandarin. - The whole game pauses any time you do something in the menus so to actually play, you need to just sit there and stare at your workers.

Its generally just not great. Buggy interface, random bits of Chinese text. It's a long way from being a functional game.
