It's a fun game. It could have been a better game but for those of us that still love slot cars there aren't many games to chose from. The track editor is a glitchy piece of trash though. The game is much like real slot racing. He who has the best tires and can maintain a higher average speed usually wins. The good news is that you never have to replace pins and runners. No more messing with brushes and springs. That being said, I would still rather play with real slot cars but it's nice to play a decent video game version for a change.

I have maybe come into this in the wrong order having become a fan of 'Carrera Go' in real life first which is a 1/43 Scale slot car racing system. But I found this very 3D and colourfully interesting and quite challenging to play given the variety of courses this game offers up. Many perceive slot car simulation to be just 'Press the ALT key and DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUH!' but I feel this offers up more because of it's colourful and inventive representation of this subject. You can set your experience level from easy to expert and the toughness will increase accordingly. Cars can and will 'spin' off the track but replace themselves within seconds at the point of excursion. I have also experienced 'HTR+ Slot Car Racing' and feel that this is more dynamic and colourful: Potentially more interesting but nothing is absolutely like the real thing ['Carrera Go'] when played on PC. A great effort though ... I liked this a lot :o)

The game is great fun if you have ever spent time playing with slot cars and assembling tracks all over your home. It has the sound and feel down plus a lot of the recognizable cars from my youth are recreated without the licensing. The only negative to the game is that you use the mouse to adjust the throttle (by clicking and dragging a notch on a powerbar). It works but the trigger of a controller would be much more natural and there is no option for it unfortunately. In fact, this is so much fun that I wish they offered a USB classic slot controller to use with the game. While this is an extreme nostalgia niche, I think they will find a loyal audience and I hope they open up Steamworks so people can mod in their own favorite content like favorite car bodies and glow in the dark track sections, zero G cars and the track accessories like lap counters, timers, cops and robbers sets, etc. $12 to revisit my youth and remember many good times with my brother is absolutely worth it. Thank you devs for something original and polished pretty well considering this Early Acess cashin world we are living in.

This game is a blast to play! For as odd as this is going to sound: They got the physics of slot car racing spot on! The ability to make your own tracks and post them for others is awesome. I was a slot car fan from the time my father/SAnta got me my first Eldon 1/24th scale back in the late 1960's. I had many Tyco's and Aurora sets of the decades and for a while had a Carrera 1/24th scale and loved. This is very similar to what I was able to do back when. I totally recomend this game.

I liked this game but it really isn't worth its price. If you buy the best wires, then the best chassis, you'll be able to win easy and normal mode always at full speed. No need to play with the throttle. And in hard mode, it's almost unplayable because of the high speed and the camera. I still recommend it at discount price.

Bad physics, repetivite sounds and music, customization options are extremely limited. I used to play slotcars a lot a few years back. This does not give the real experience justice. Uninstalled within 15 minutes of playing. If only I tried it as soon as I bought it, then I could ask for a refund... Gotta give credit where credit is due though: there is virtually no loading between races. A good thing, because you'll be restarting A LOT.

Where do I start. This game is fun...for a while and then towards the higher difficulties it becomes a game of fine tuning and balance. Putting on all the best kit will only get you so far and then it takes a dive in to near unplayeble. You end up losing more track than you've gained. The accelarator is so sensitive (even with a pad). You can't just hold down the gas button down and GO. You have to feather some corners, once you're round that corner your compitition has already passed you by. It's worth a buy but only the bare minimum. NO DLC NO mod support No online multiplayer and towards the end NO fun. The track editor is weird (imo)

Loved slot cars as a kid. This takes it up 1000 percent. Beautiful graphics, easy game play with mouse or controller. Well thought out tracks so the cars dont fly off all the time so its fun to play and not an exercise in frustration. Very fun. Lots of tracks and different levels. Can upgrade cars. Good game.

This game is all flash, and absolutely no substance. The only advantage HTR+ has over Virtual SlotCars (the other slot car sim on Steam) is the graphics, which do look nice. However, Virtual SlotCars is superior in every other aspect, including physics, progression, customization, and play value. The physics are abysmal in HTR+, particularly when it comes to stunt jumps and loop-de-loops; regardless of your skill or speed, it's a 50/50 crapshoot whether you crash/deslot when performing these maneuvers. Progression is gated behind a paywall of ingame currency which can only be earned the very first time you win a track, and then only when you clock a record lap time on that track (there is a cheesy way around this in which you can download a simple player-created map and incrementally achiever faster and faster record laps for payouts each time, then delete the map and redownload, rinse and repeat). This game punishes you for upgrading your car beyond a certain speed, and higher-level body shells make your car impossible to race. I can't imagine how difficult and frustrating this game must have been prior to the implementation of gamepad trigger compatibility. The camera angles are absolutely terrible in HTR+, two of which are virtually unusable. In ANY racing game, players must have the ability to see what's ahead of them, and you simply don't get that in this game. Some of the races start with wipeout curves you cannot see until you have wiped out. That's poor game design. A lot of love clearly went into the meshes and textures and track design, but that's about it. Everything else is exceptionally poor quality. This game only cost $7, but I still feel ripped off. If you want to play a solid slot car racing simulator, don't give this game another thought and go buy Virtual SlotCars for a similar price.
