A very good implementation of a great board game.

This is a great implementation of Barrage.
I highly recommend it for my use case. I'm looking to get familiar with the game at my own pace against AI so that I can take forever on my turn analyzing and learning the game before jumping over to BGA for a real time game. I'm also fine just trying to beat my high score rather than competing against the AI.
So for me, I don't care how good the AI is, which I could see being the only complaint for this implementation.
For reference, I definitely don't consider myself to be good at the game. The score of my second game after going through the tutorial was:
Me: 82
AIs: 66, 47, 46
I hear the devs are working on improving the AI.

If you're looking for a challenging AI, it's better to wait as the current one is quite easy. The developer said there will be a better one in the future.
If the AI cannot really be improved, adding challenges like having to reach a certain score or winning with every faction or without special abilities (assistants) could be a nice addition. Building a special AI that would collude and try to block all the barrages of the human player by building upstream could also be a fun addition.

The way the game is currently, I would not purchase it.I strongly recommend the bga implementation. the developer was too worried about fitting everything onto one screen and it is a mess. it doesnt even display the conduit values on the default screen. it wont check to see if you want to complete a contract. just far too many negatives in this current iteration. maybe in future releases but until they realize it doesnt need to fit on one screen, it will be a dumpster fire of a ui.

Another buggy release from this company. After my first game, I have had two games that have been uncompletable due to bugs. Last time I'll ever buy anything from you again--the same thing happened with your Lorenzo digital.

Hoping for more of the maps and factions from the expansions. This is very well done and the dev is responding to early feedback. For a game this complex it won't be perfect on day one but I'm super impressed for the quality thus far. I'd own the board game if my wife and daughter were more into this type of game but its pretty brutal with the blocking and the fact that you game can be basically over if you punt your opening (we can do up to Lacerda "Inventions" weight but they don't like the take-that/blocking/lock out of game as much.) Happy for a version where I can smash some AIs after work. Well done. They also do Lorenzo Il Magnifico which I've since picked up. That one may be too beige for the wife and kid but happy to have that one as well.

Waiting for hotfixes. The building window, which takes up half the screen, can't be minimized, making it impossible to select the desired location for building placement. Still, the game is good.

I've played the game as 2 different local sessions (using 2 and 3 AI opponents) - and each time around the 4th round a bug appeared making the game completion impossible and ruining the overall good experience.
In both sessions - a message was displayed: "That's a bug.." followed by some additional text - in a popup window. After closing the popup basically the only option left is to quit the game as the other menu/options become unusable. If you exit the game and then reload the same session - the bug is still there, even if you undo few player turns and then try another choices on your turns.
I really hope to get a bug fix - to change this review in a positive one.

TLDR; thoroughly enjoy this game, great digital version to the fantastic board game. Would recommend massively if you like worker placement, and a good strategy to play!
I have recently got into board games, and worker placement is my favourite type. I love the strategic side to it, and the fact that other players turns can mess with your plan so you have to try and work around it.
I have purchased Barrage the board game and used this digital version to teach me to play the game. The in-game tutorial is brilliant, by the end of that I was able to comfortably place my first game and feel like I knew what to do. By the end of my first game I knew exactly what do and looking forward to my next one.
I haven't encountered any bugs thus far and looking forward to playing online against some real players.
Looking forward to getting my physical copy on the table in the very near future!
