i gave a good effort & tried to like it. but, the game is oversaturated with AI "assistance" that interferes every step of the way. the auto-movements/forced animations ruin any kind of joy. why does my player suddenly automatically front the post player on D with no backside help? who knows.. (there are many examples like that) it was like my controller was my fiercest opponent. &, so many times where my players foot is clearly outside the paint but still got a 3-second. i wish the VC ad wouldn't pop up each time you start the game. i wish there were more options re: music. &, i know it's no longer available, but nba 2k12 which i still have & play on my steam deck with ease in high settings bc it's only 7.46 gb's is my fav bball game; sometimes less is more. guys don't move like their feet are stuck in quicksand.

NBA 2K25 Review – Barely Worth It This "newest" NBA 2K feels bloated and poorly optimized. The install size is massive for no good reason, and performance issues—stuttering, frame drops—make it frustrating even on decent hardware. While gameplay remains solid, sluggish menus and aggressive microtransactions kill the experience. It’s another year of minor improvements buried and updates rosters under technical glitches. If you’re a hardcore fan and can get your hands on this installment for a discount like i did, you’ll be fairly satisfied with it. Otherwise, it’s hard to justify the hassle and pricetag. And i gotta say this again, they really need to learn how to optimize a game because with this one, it can get really really frustrating at times with all the lags and glitches. Rating - 5.5/10

this is one of the worst developed games ive ever played. ive never seen a company so eager to rush out a steaming pile of garbage. i could be sitting in the main menu and my game would crash, i could be applying settings and my game would crash. the game is riddled with bugs and theyre too worried about getting people to buy vc rather than making a good product. i know that they rush out a new game every year because its a sports game, but god dude nobody wants a new game every year if the new game is terrible. i hope they turn in the right direction and focus on making a good game rather than shoving in game purchases in your face. i hate you 2k

Dont bother with this game it feels like theyre force feeding you dog shit on top of all the countless pop up micro transaction ads they have. NOT TO MENTION IT RUNS LIKE FUCKING ASSS, for reference i have an i7-13700k and 4070, for shits and giggles ima add on that my case has some great airflow on top of the aio........yet this game still runs like im trying to load it up on an xbox 360. It literally eats my cpus ass without remorse.... it shoots up to high FUCKING 80s when literally any other crazy title game my cpu has hit mid 60s MAX. like bro i played this shit for less than an hour an wanted my refund within the 1st 10 min!?!?!?!?!?!? GENUINELY save ur $$$$ bc i got this on sale and i JUST CANNOT imagine paying 70 FUCKING usd for playing a game that plays like u just downloaded a bitcoin mining virus. Oh dont forget your going to waste 150gb for virtually a nothing burger bc nobody gives a shit about the city, i barely saw any active park runs, and all that other metric ass ton of space seems to disappear into thin air because your getting nothing but a wet farts worth of satisfaction. PLEASE save urself from this purgatory of buying any more new 2ks for it to be ass bc this shit is definitely the last straw. so depressing this is the only basketball game out there.

This is the first NBA game I've really gotten hooked on. Love the gameplay! Playing exclusively on Steam Deck. Great Experience. I should probably mention that I'm ONLY playing singleplayer game modes. The online stuff sticks to high heaven of capitalistic greediness.

I have been really disappointed with the last few years of 2K with the PC ports. It was never the same game as what was advertised and it almost ruined the experience for me playing mostly on MyCareer and MyGym. So I am incredibly happy this game is the full experience and being able to fully play the game has been so much fun. Really thankful they changed this game around.

I have a 4070 ti Super and decided to play this game. On Console, it's amazing the gameplay isn't bad. But holy shit I don't think I've seen a worse PC port in my entire life. The graphics are actually HORRIBLE, I have good 240hz monitor, great GPU and CPU and whenever I put the graphics on max I get a decent 120 fps but it looks like a PS2 Game. It's got horribly stuttering, and optimizing it is utter hell. Also, I had to fix several things in my drivers just for it to start up. Not a shocker though, It's a 2K game.

No person with their mental faculties still functioning normally would recommend this excuse of a game to someone, unless they're trolling. Still, I buy this every year in a sale and I still can't think it's a good game, I just can't control myself because this is the ONLY basketball game out there. Poorly polished, the FPS drop is something to ask for a refund, it's just absurd and ridiculous. I guess the only "good" thing is the fact that the PC version now is the same as the next gen consoles. But it's straight up sad to have to put everything in the Low settings to play smoothly while the same PC can run BG3 in the max settings...

Game is pretty good for the price if you get it on sale. Just never buy VC. You can't let them win.
