Diatomic Reviews

Diatomic is the movement shooter with gun juggling, epic boss fights, hardcore parkour and more blood and chaos than the term "fantasy violence" should probably allow for! Kill - Steal weapon - kill again!

Game is really fun but inputs dont always land making it very frustrating. I dont have this trouble with other games. Final level is unbalanced because of this. Npc attack patterns are also inconsistent.

This game COULD be fun. Sometimes it is. The boss fights ruin it. Completely. Also the momentum physics in this game are screwy and don't feel good. Fighting mechanics are fun but a little clunky. Potentially fun, definitely not recommended. If this game really looks interesting to you, buy it at a discount.

For those that haven't played Sword with Sauce, this game is a fun, fast paced almost hotline-miami style combat experience where you manage your weapon ammo/durability with the understanding of the environment to improvise ways to take down each enemy running at you. For what it is, it's very well done, but somewhat overstays its welcome. It offers parkour and boss battles, which don't feel like what the game was built for at all, and unfortunately the levels are played linearly in such a way that if you get stuck at a boss battle, you are forced to beat it instead of being able to skip to the next level. Really sad because there is no reason to have the levels be linear instead of free form, since it offers replayability in the form of score attack. Perhaps it's not worth full price (10 USD at the time of writing) unless you like this particular style of game. I enjoyed my short time playing but didn't beat it. I also recommend the predecessor game made by the same developer, Sword with Sauce. While this in many ways is an upgrade to Sword with Sauce, I can't help but feel overall it's a downgrade in gameplay. The removal of stealth, loadouts and starting weapon limits the ways in which I can choose to play the game vastly over what Sword with Sauce had, and it's a huge bummer because this game in just about every other aspect is vastly better.
