Braveland is a super addictive strategy RPG with simplified mechanics and scope. You level up, improve stats, equip items, maintain your army and teach each unit type one special skill. But you only pick one stat out of 2 every time you level up, you have less than 5 items per category to equip for your hero and there are 7 different units. I’m not implying it’s a bad thing as it works perfectly for a game that’s around 6 hours long (on hard). The story is also very one note and super basic, the dialogues can be funny though. It’s a game that’s very easy to get into, the style is pretty cute and it’s an enjoyable experience. I mostly have 2 issues with the game. The achievements are mostly fair and fun, one requires you to complete the game on hard which is a fine idea. But, there is absolutely a wrong way of spending money to keep up with the challenge. At first I thought it would be better to prioritise items as their stats affect all units. This made the game a chore with constant deaths, it was clear that I was doing something wrong. It turns out that it’s a must to invest most of the money into increasing the number of fighters within a unit. This forced me to quit my save about one third of the game and start a new save since you can’t grind, there are no replacements for the enemies you defeat. It made such a world of difference that I’m worried this could drastically change someone’s impression/experience if they don’t know. Also, text is often outside the text box on a 2560 x 1440p monitor. Braveland is not necessarily special and it doesn’t do anything differently. But it’s a fine game that’s well put together and it doesn’t ask a high price. €10 based on what I experienced is fair but you don’t even need to pay that. It’s still on sale for €1 on steam at the moment. If you’re looking for a short and casual strategy RPG, then this fits the bill. I’ve spent 7.8 hours on the game with all the achievements, but that does include my first incomplete save which I estimate to have taken me 2 hours before I quit.

NO. I purchased this as a trilogy when they were 90% off and that was a mistake. Very formula driven mobile games that are annoying more than fun. I guess there are easy achievements but that should never be a reason to buy or play a game. My wallet wasn't too damaged but I would be screaming if I had paid full price.
