Ethel is a strong first blood from this indie developer as it left me fully satisfied with my time in the Ethel house. The story starts off with an intriguing premise that builds on its mystery while also introducing an unexpected and deadly twist.
The atmosphere and environment in Ethel is sufficiently spooky, the story is well written and the scares were both enjoyable and directly tied to the story. There are no nonsensical jumpscares from this dev, the scares are earned and after you find out the full story you realize why the scares happened the way that they did.
This is simply an awesome first indie horror game that was fun to play and had me excited to play the next game from the same dev which is called Claire. Claire was a step up from Ethel so if you enjoyed Ethel be sure to check our Claire next

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Ethel is a slow-burning psychological horror experience that genuinely surprised me. From the moment I stepped into the house, I was drawn into a story that felt deeply personal, unsettling, and emotionally charged. The atmosphere is incredibly well-crafted — tense, eerie, and dripping with dread without ever overloading you with cheap jump scares.
The narrative unfolds in such a way that you're always questioning what’s real, and what’s not, with fantastic environmental storytelling and chilling audio design. For a solo developer project, this is shockingly polished. The pacing, voice work, and overall presentation make it feel like you're playing through a psychological horror film.

Would highly recommend this game, Tony (The Developer) did an amazing job. Game offers a fantastic story, as well as loads of things that'll catch you off guard. The amount of times this game had me fly back in my seat was ridiculous xD but that's why I play Horror games. Definitely give this game a run-through and right after play his 2nd game Claire which continues the story after Ethel. Was a pleasure playing your game Tony, and i'll be waiting for your next project!

I had a lot of fun with this one. The story was sad. A lot of the jump scares were cool. Even the "Crap I know its going to happen" jump scares still made me jump lol It wasn't Horrifying by any means but I may have peed a little a time or two and there was a cool mechanic in the game that made it interesting. I am glad I bought it. 7.5 out of 10 I will be getting the follow up game in the series Claire at some point. I got the bad ending...

I am so glad I found this one. In my 2.5 hours , i was truly terrified but it was a blast. After an intense jump scares, I then would laugh my heart was beating so fast. For a first time game developer, he did an fantastic job. Perfect jump scares, the sound was terrifying with the somber singing, whispers and other things that go boom. Story was interesting as you gather it. My one small gripe was I wish they had a space to revisit the notes and story you find as some of it are needed. I ended up just taking photos on my phone.
But overall 9.5/10. Very impressive one man development. Not to play the sequel, Claire!!

For a reasonably short horror game , this was incredible . Easy enough puzzles to understand , music and sound effects create the atmosphere perfectly. Really do recommend this game.
