A simple and straightforward platformer that is fun without being too difficult. Mechanics are easy to figure out and explained well in the short tutorial level. Fans of retro games will appreciate the art style, though the graphics definitely has room for some improvement. The music is catchy and loops but doesn't feel repetitive.
Where this game really shines is in the level design. Certain areas are not reachable until you have picked up the right items, so there is some trekking back and forth until you figure it all out and become more familiar with the layout. I felt this was very well thought out and made this little game more than just a dex-based platformer.
This game was a lot of fun and I found myself enjoying it a lot more than I was expecting. For this being the developer's first game, I think they are definitely off to a good solid start. As others have mentioned, the game is indeed very short. However the price of $0.99 is absolutely fair and I would definitely recommend this game.

Please comment where the hidden gems are. The guide I found on DeviantArt is misleading.

This extremely charming offering is easily the best first-time-hobbyist-developer-cat-themed-99p game I have ever played. Godspeed.

This has become my 6yo son's favourite video game and I love it as it has so much old school side scroller feel. Watching him move his whole body and arms to the right to try and make that big jump and then learning about resilience and patience and trying over and over is quite amusing. Definitely recommend. Also the ability to use a controller on this is great.

I already liked this simple retro platformer before I knew it was a new dev project, but that makes it even more special. It is short, but so is the price (I thought they reduced it too much actually), and the dev has added plenty of variations and challenges on the basic themes of the game giving a bit of replayability.
But the most notable thing is how well executed all those familiar and basic mechanics are. It is super smooth, jumping having all the exacting requirements of this type of game and exploring the absolute limit of your double jumps and edge landings. The retro graphics hide a thoroughly modern feel and everything feels very thought-through and planned. And having achievements just add to the worth of giving it a try.
For a first time dev exploration I am really impressed, and wish Josh and Keanu all the best in their future learnings together!

Normally, I would stay away from sadomasochistic games IWBTG and SMB, but this game was too hard to pass on for 99 cents. Loved the SFX and BMG and the level design is very thoughtful. Lots of classic platform mechanics built into this indie game: double jumping, edge jumping, minimaps, and metroidvania area progression. If only I could double jump better...
