If you loved Bookworm Adventures, you will love this. Starts easy - as do all word games - but the timers and word requirements later on increase the difficulty nicely. Touchscreen on the Deck is perfect too.

This game is so well thought out and simply amazing. If this is your kind of game, just get it. For the full price I paid, I feel the dev(s) got cheated. The levels are plenty and it gets very challenging very fast. I would love to see a few save files so my nephew could start from scratch. He's 11 years old and this is part of his homework. He's home schooled. You will put MANY hours into this if you want to beat the game. I've just unlocked the 4th world and cannot wait for what's ahead. Thank you for this!~

Thoroughly recommend Letters & Legends. An obvious premise with familiar gameplay, but that's part of its charm. The game is simple to pick up, yet there's enough strategy to give it depth and a satisfying challenge as you progress. For just a couple of quid, there's very little to lose and plenty of fun to gain. Definitely worth a buy.

Being a fan of Bookworm Adventures, I really like and enjoy playing this game! Very challenging at times, which is a good thing. Flexibility with purchasing items to help you win levels. I constantly search for word rpg roguelike games such as this one. Word games are my favorite. To the developer, thank you very much for this Bookworm Adventures inspired game and give us more! We definitely need more BWA-like word games. Was previously waiting for the finished version of Writer's Block to be released, Letters & Legends has filled the void! *Besides Bookworm Adventures, I have also compared this game to Orbi's Chronicles, Paperback Adventures, Spellspire, Scroodles, Letter Quest: Grimm's Journey, Syllablade and Word Charmer.

This gave me massive nostalgia feels and I was delighted to find something like this word puzzle spell-a-thon. The comparisons to Bookworm adventures are inevitable but warranted - this is certainly a knowing tribute and fond homage, with a similar setup and structure to that classic. Battle ever increasingly difficult enemies using your faithful word grid, some power ups and your personal lexicon, for better or worse! But it is so much more than that, it's an improvement in every way. There's a choice of characters to play with differing strengths and weaknesses, a lovely art style, multiple challenge types and a fine bestiary to battle against. While perfect for kids and adult wordsmiths, make no mistake that this game can be fiendish at times and gets difficult towards the end - you will be challenged, but you can always take a step back and replenish your powers so you don't get stuck. It's all very nicely structured and thought through and hugely satisfying when you notice that killer word. Not short either, it will probably take around 10 hours to complete and get all achievements, and another 5-10 to complete every bonus level so you'll be getting great value for money too. I always enjoy games where the thought and effort is apparent, and in this case topped off by a responsive and helpful (single) dev which makes all the difference. The entire game is just making words from a random set, so if that sounds boring to you then stay away but I reckon most everyone who enjoys a word puzzle now and again will be enamoured with this.
