Out of all the Backroom games this one is the most unique has a nice twist on it something that the genre is lacking so I can see the game doing well with some nice updates and a active Dev, something that backroom games also lacks but other then that its done well.

Super fun game! My friends and I randomly picked this up and full sent playing for 4 hours and it was a huge blast. Looking forward to any updates that might come, maybe a little more instructions for levels like the house and chairs instead of running around like chickens with our heads cut off

The newest patch added nothing. It only removed endless mode (now says coming soon), and locked previously available content behind a progress wall.

If you have the money to spare and want a random game to play with friends why not, but it's very redondant. Same objectives, same monsters just different maps and different objects to collect.

Edit: changed feedback to recommend with caveat: I think this game has room for improvement (see original review below) but the feedback from devs was detailed and honest. I will revisit in the future as the core gameplay is fun, it just needs some work on entity mechanics. I picked up this game after playing Backrooms: Escape Together. Across the board, this is a worse title. The biggest issue is the enemy mechanics. In B.E.T. there was a strategy to figure out. You need to be quiet around the blind enemy. You need to look at the Attack on Titan guys who sprint at you and they run away. You need to use batteries sparingly to strategically lock the doors and avoid the guy made of 100 dismembered arms. You have red guy in literally the single coolest level made in the history of video games. In this game though, everything just runs at you and you die. The fake player? runs at you and you die. Zombie guys? run at you with no tactics. You can't even lock yourself in a room, they just break the doors. Dog guys? Chase you and you die. Overall, needs some work. Each entity should have a tactic to figure out to make the level interesting.

Players: Played with 3 people (Game allows 1-6 players) Rating Overall: 5.5/10 This game sits right in the middle of the gaming spectrum — not great, not awful, just average BUT there is potential for improvement!! <3 👍 What it gets right: - Runs decently well with minimal bugs so far - Multiple levels with somewhat resemblance of the backroom themes - Art style and sound design are fairly decent 👎 What could be better: - Objective is quite bland, and barely much to do. Most of the time you are tasked to explore and find stuff and that's it. Feels repetitive after awhile - Definitely some pacing issues — either drags too long or ends too abruptly. Certain level just take way too long because the area is too big or the items are hard to be seen - Entities also is quite mundane 💬 Final Thoughts: - In my opinion, the game play objective as well as pacing of the game can be improved better. Make it so that the task does not feel boring after awhile, keep it exciting. Add more lore, mystery or puzzles. - Did not understand the need for smilers to be in every level. Try to make each level unique with a proper entity that fits each level. - Also! Maybe add an option to start at the last level which players died on. It gets annoying when you keep having to restart to Level 1. I tried this game on Wanderer mode which was describe to be the easiest with entity involved so having to restart every time you die, gets boring and make you feel less incline to play. I'd rather you put this mechanism of restarting every time you die on harder difficulties (Such as nightmare). I understand that there is a different mode where you can choose the level you want to play in (? not sure much about it as I did not explore that mode. Only tried the loop mode which is the main mode) But I think it would be better if you could choose the level you last died on to start again. However, I do notice when restarting, some times levels are randomly generated so it woulds jump levels, did not understand the reason for the jumping between levels ~ However, merely just a suggestion However I do see lots of effort went into making such a game which I appreciate!! <3! I hope for better updates and improvement for the future!! See so much potential!! Overall, I'd say its a decent way to kill a weekend. Just go in with modest expectations ~ Probably a good 1-2 hours type of game with friends. Unless you keep dying, you'd have to restart all over again and might take 2-3 hours until you get bored like we did HAHAH ~

A big disappointment for a true Backrooms fan As someone who’s deeply passionate about the Backrooms universe and who regularly tests indie horror games, I have to say that Backrooms: Extractions left me truly disappointed. The game lacks surprise and variety. The same monsters appear on every level, with no real evolution or sense of progression, which makes the experience feel repetitive very quickly. Artistically speaking, there’s some effort, but it falls short. Where other Backrooms games manage to create atmosphere through clever asset placement and environmental storytelling, this one just feels like a generic game mode, loosely wrapped in the Backrooms setting — and nothing more. The level design is uninspired, failing to deliver any feeling of exploration, mystery, or unease, which are essential to the Backrooms experience. The monsters feel poorly chosen, disconnected from the atmosphere that the game should be aiming for. I especially want to point out the "FUN" level, which is a huge missed opportunity. It doesn’t resemble the iconic Backrooms level at all: the music is off, the childlike, unsettling atmosphere is completely absent, and the objective feels weak and directionless. There's just no tension, no discomfort — and no fun. It simply doesn’t honor the source material. I can see the effort that went into making this game, but I truly believe that many design choices went in the wrong direction. As it stands, this doesn’t feel like a Backrooms game. It fails to capture the mood, the fear, and the existential eeriness that fans expect. Sadly, I regret buying it. I wish it had lived up to its potential. Apologies to the dev team, but this is my honest feedback as both a Backrooms fan and a game tester. 👉 I'm also open to discussing this further — feel free to reach out.
