It's very cute and minimalist, but even then, horribly unpolished. Animations break, information/stats provided are just wrong sometimes, items in menus aren't named correctly (or even just named "error"), it's possible to click on stuff through a menu while you're using it, and even the occasional crash. Look, I don't expect any game to be perfect, but these are the types of errors I expect from games which are *a bit* more robust than this. A smaller issue is just the game flow in general. Early game you need a ton of money and earn it super slow so you just build ugly stuff which are efficient - so you basically need to "grind" in order to get to the part of the game you actually give a fuck about: decorating the homes. And, you can't demolish walls, so if you build somewhere you didn't mean to - too bad. It's dirt cheap so if you can get it on 50% and are interested, then maybe. Otherwise, not really worth it, which is a shame; the idea has merit.

This is good. Feels like simplified Sims. It is very involved though, too involved to be an idle game that runs on your screen while you do other things. For example, there is a lot of possibilities to build homes, give characters life stories, develop their careers, decorate, etc. It is also very easy to progress and have a lot of money/stuff very quickly. So, very little idling, and potentially a lot of playing actively. This works if whatever else you are doing doesn't require much focus. I can imagine this game for people with very boring desk jobs.

I was excited for this, thinking it would be an idle version of the Sims and something to fill the Virtual Villagers shaped hole in my heart. Or even something like Tiny Tower on iOS. Eh. No character customisation, you're forced to use certain items so all playthroughs look the same, and the little characters are completely isolated from the rest of their world. They all work from home, they don't talk to each other, they don't have or develop interests except for their assigned instrument. There's no real consequences of missing work or starving to death because you forgot to give them a fridge - sure, it's an idle game, but there's no reason to waste money on a good bed for the first character when you need to get the next level for the second character, and the only consequence is you make slightly less money, which doesn't matter because it's an idle game - just go take a nap IRL and you'll have the money when you wake up. The progression was just odd. I don't know how to explain it. Somehow I would be micromanaging and yet have nothing to do, it could be at breakneck pace at some points and others I'd wait an hour just to get all the furniture in. It's extremely easy overall but there are points where it's unnecessarily frustrating because you don't understand why they're not doing what they're supposed to be doing. There's a million little clutter items that you have to scroll through to find one specific hobby item but, like, three or four beds and none of them match the room you want to put them in. Once you've finished the "plotline" that you needed, there's no point in doing anything for the "old" tenants. It sort of felt like a tutorial for a game that didn't come afterwards. I understand it couldn't come out the gate with fully fledged relationship dynamics and a family system but it felt like focus was put into the wrong areas. Having an "endless" or "hard" mode would be a start, where you have to keep your tenant's needs up or they'll die/move out - meaning that in order to idle, you have to set up their rooms/apartments correctly. All that said, even full price isn't a bad deal.

This is a really cute idle game, that's like a totally hands-off Sims. I think some of the negative reviews forget this is intended to be an idle game that you just let run by itself for the most part and only interact with rarely. My only issue is that pen input doesn't work. I like to let bottom screen idlers run on my tablet where I work from, but with no pen input I can't do that because it's a pain to swap off to mouse just to interact. :( Please fix! Otherwise, I think it's super cute!

My Little Life is a distinctive life simulation game that carves out a quiet, comforting niche within the genre by combining elements of idle gameplay with gentle management and subtle strategy. Unlike many life sims that demand constant attention or plunge you into intricate micromanagement, this title thrives on being a calming, background companion that you can check on intermittently. The game runs seamlessly alongside your other activities, encouraging a relaxed approach where the little characters continue their lives even when you aren’t actively involved. This blend of passive and interactive gameplay makes it ideal for players who enjoy slow-burn progression without the pressure of constant input. The setting of My Little Life revolves around a small community of six little people living in their own miniature world. Each of these characters pursues unique aspirations and career paths, such as farming, streaming, or hacking, which brings individuality and depth to the game. Players act as facilitators rather than dictators, guiding these tiny lives by upgrading their homes, furnishing their spaces, and helping them advance in their respective professions. What’s remarkable is how the game turns something as simple as buying a new chair or desk into a meaningful decision. The items you purchase don’t just decorate the environment—they impact your characters’ happiness and ability to succeed in their careers, adding an unexpected layer of strategy and personalization to the experience. Progression in My Little Life is steady and rewarding, framed by a loop that encourages players to expand and improve the living spaces of their digital companions. You earn credits as the little people complete tasks and climb the ranks of their professions. These credits are then invested back into their homes by unlocking and placing new furniture or upgrading existing items. The game’s attention to detail shines here; furniture deliveries arrive with charming animations, and characters react positively to their improved surroundings, enhancing the sense of a living, breathing world. This cycle of work, reward, and customization creates a satisfying rhythm that feels both calming and purposeful. While the overall gameplay is soothing, the interface can present a learning curve. With various menus, zoning options, and window controls, some aspects initially feel overwhelming or unclear. The game provides tutorials to guide new players, but certain features require patience and exploration to master fully. Some UI elements could benefit from more intuitive design, especially for newcomers, but this complexity also reflects the game’s surprisingly rich systems beneath its gentle surface. Over time, players develop an appreciation for the balance between hands-off progression and meaningful choices, discovering the nuance hidden behind the game’s serene facade. A minor criticism lies in the way decorative items are presented. Often, these pieces lack clear or evocative names, making it tempting to select furniture based on function rather than aesthetic appeal. This pragmatic approach can detract from the creative freedom that decorating should ideally offer, potentially limiting players who want to focus on crafting a visually cohesive and personal living space. Despite this, the joy of unlocking new items and seeing your little people’s homes evolve remains a highlight of the experience. Audio design is subtle and mostly unobtrusive, featuring soft ambient music and gentle interface sounds that complement the game’s relaxing atmosphere. However, some players may find the frequent notification sounds—such as coin jingles or bubble pops—a bit distracting, especially when using the game alongside work or other tasks that require concentration. Fortunately, the option to mute or adjust sound layers is available, allowing you to tailor the audio experience to your preference and maintain a peaceful environment. One of the strongest appeals of My Little Life is its capacity to engage players over long periods without feeling repetitive or demanding. Many users report spending dozens, if not hundreds, of hours immersed in the game’s quiet world, where progress is measured in small but meaningful increments. The lack of stressful challenges, achievements, or timers makes it particularly well-suited as a low-pressure companion game that complements rather than competes with everyday life. This gentle pacing encourages a sense of calm and satisfaction that resonates deeply with those seeking a more mindful gaming experience. The game also benefits from a responsive developer team, which has actively patched bugs and refined gameplay based on community feedback since launch. This ongoing support reassures players that the experience will continue to improve, and helps foster a welcoming, engaged player base. The commitment to polishing and expanding the game demonstrates a dedication to quality and player satisfaction that enhances the overall appeal. In essence, My Little Life is a quietly captivating life simulation that excels in creating a miniature world that feels both lively and peaceful. It offers a rare combination of idle gameplay with meaningful progression, wrapped in a cozy aesthetic that invites players to slow down and enjoy simple pleasures. While its interface may take some getting used to and certain design choices could be more polished, the warmth and depth of its systems make it a rewarding experience for anyone who appreciates a laid-back yet thoughtful approach to virtual life. For those seeking a charming, low-maintenance game that fits seamlessly into their daily routine, My Little Life is a delightful digital sanctuary worth exploring. Rating: 9/10

If you sweat the game out like I did, it'll take you approx 6/7 hours to grind it out lol Hope more is added to the game like the ability to have little families/love interests and shared bedrooms but this is still a very solid little game and definitely worth the money!
