First PC game I ever played I think. HArd, unforgiving, funny. For 50 cent, it's totally worth it.

So much love for this game, i still have it on the Philips CDI but can never be bothered setting it up so i was so glad you see that it was on steam. Played this game quite a lot when i was younger but never got far because i wasn't really sure what to do and always got lost and confused. Oh well now i have it on Steam, this is the perfect chance for me to playthrough this game Also this seems very different to the CDI version, maybe this is taken from the Amiga version

Just finished the game. The maze sections get a little boring after a while. Specially cause avoiding some traps seems to be based on luck (Sometimes you are grabbed by a hand while trying to jump over a hole) more than on ability. The minigames (rooms) are fun, but figuring out the controllers or what to do in some of them can be a pain (Like the bull riding one in the final chapter which I passed by mashing buttons since i couldn't figure out what exactly to do). In general I'd say the game is ok if you have the patience for it, but the game would have been a lot better if it just had more save points; it wouldn't be such a pain to get a game over cause you didn't understand what to do in a room or just couldn't do what you were supposed to do thanks to the finicky controls if you could save more often and didn't have to go again through places and rooms you've already gone through. Still, the game is very charming and i just couldn't leave it halfway done ,so i guess it must do something right. (Just make sure to read a guide before starting to avoid feeling completely lost)

This game is what I would call a "hidden effort". I can't believe that something that had so much effort put into cartoon qualities is so obscure, almost a shame. But a hidden gem it is not. More like hidden jank. You can see people really wracking their brain of making it more like a cartoon action, so they came wiht a structure where you have a compilation of minigames and walk in 3D-like maze. The maze is played from the third person and is actually impressive for its time, I like how you can control the devil to walk around in 8 direction. But you really can't see any obstacle coming, especially with mutt's muttness blocking the view. And maze is a maze with nothing interesting going on aside from funny obstacle animations, so. And minigames are horrible to control, especially their nearly one button fighting. It sure is not Street Fighter 2, not even 1, more like Flash animation and it's bad and stay for too long. And if it's not fighting, then it's not terribly unique, probably more of annoying, like teleporters maze. There are very few decent minigames, as I saw in longplay video because I have too much self-respect to beat games nowadays, ho ho ho, but they aren't worth it.

I bought this immediately because I used to own a copy back in the 90's and loved this game back then. Although the animations/framerate may be considered less than ideal by modern standards, I find that it has aged reasonably well. It's a nice little old-school blend of various puzzle/action/platform minigames tied together by increasingly complicated trap-filled labyrinth levels. The game has a lot of humor and charm, while being reasonably difficult (whether it's for the right reasons or not is debatable. You won't regret having a pencil and grap paper available though.)

A good old classic with an acquired taste. Yes, the game is hard, but it pays of in good ol' fun and gniffels. I mean come on.... using a pin to stick it to the sumo wrestler??? :-D Controles aren't broken or anything, you use "X" and "Z" to attack and the arrows to move. Nothing more, nothing less. Yes the graphics are from the great beyond, but for me personally that doens't matter, the game is as fun as it was when I played it on CD-I

I thought about starting this review countering all those negative reviews talking about money, controller support and the ****......but it is not fair. I'll start talking about this fantastic old game....which not every mind can evidently sustain. This is a labirinth game. it is designed to make you lose your way, confuse and upset you. As every labirinth ever constructed (and deserving the name) every corridor appears the same with few changings (mostly traps). This is the goal of the game....NOT LETTING YOU OUT! so why should it help you? No, you're going to try and navigate this infinite dedalus, dodging traps and collecting utilities along the way, until you can find the solution for the riddles behind every door you'll find (or die trying, which is funny in itself! never laughed as much with any other game over). Naturally is an old game, and pixels dominates everything....wait, what are you saying? 2014 was the year of pixel art? how STRANGE. (graphics = useless) at least for this game type, go take a look (and play) "Papers, please" for instance: pixel art at it's best, a new game, fun and challenging. Only difference with Litil Divil, that is NEW, this is OLD. Obviously is and old labirinth game, so if you're looking for action, explosions, people screaming and nudes, turn around and don't come back. please. All the reviews complaining about the controller support, about how this game is too difficult or "too old to be fun (wut?)" Even about how there's NOTHING to help you along the way. And i almost died laughing. Let me explain why: Seriously, this game is OLD. Ever since the OS (every OS) evolved, thus leaving this (as another hundreds of games) behind, i've wanted to play it again. Now some gentleman decided to use DOSBox to convey it on steam. Well, i say CHEERS, thankyou! Now, the reasons behind my perplexity: 1) MONEY - Awww poor you, 10€ for a challenging retrogame is too much! better spend 2€ on candy crush, yeah? ......or 50something on COD for that matter right? shoot shoot shoot. 2) HELP - Seriously? where did the real gamers go? OMG no weak glowing spot to shoot/click/aim/look at, we're DOOMED! finish this game you explosions addicted braindeads, i dare you. 3) CONTROLLER - and so you played on amiga, fine! last time i checked the controller doesn't make the game....so use your damned keyboard, spoiled brats! This game is funny, relaxing and challenging....at least until you undersand it. but you need to try, that's all. Peace.
