A great JRPG with excellent twists and an appropriately tense, atmospheric soundtrack. However, the late-game loop gets highly repetitive—a clear sign of 3DS-era hardware and budget limitations. If you've played a lot of games, your gamer intuition might help you guess the secrets and non-traditional paths early on.
Still very fun and worth playing. Strictly avoid any spoilers before jumping in, or you will lose a lot of the fun!

After having played this game countless times across 3ds, switch 2 and now pc I can definitively say it is one of the greatest turn based rpgs of the modern era. With a creative and fun job system, an amusing cast of characters and a story that grips you no matter how many times you play it, I would give this game a spot in my favourite games of all time. It runs beautifully on pc, I have been playing it at 1440p and its running at a locked 180fps. Amazing game and i hope and pray the release bravely second on pc too.

I didn’t give this game a fair shake on the 3DS back in the day. I’m enjoying it a lot more this time around. Really just feels like old Final Fantasy, maybe like 3, but with a twist on combat. Story is as tropey as it gets, but it’s fine. Everyone is right about the music in that it’s fantastic. Hopefully they remaster Bravely Second next since I never got to try that one out.

Pretty cool game. I really like the auto grinding feature for battles. I am an old skool gamer and I know what grinding in rpgs requires hah

i played this game back on the 3ds and remembered it extremely fondly
trying to play this game is like asking to get kicked in the balls
the game makes you grind then puts a boss in front of you that's so grossly overpowered it kills any fun you were having
game does alot of things great, the jobs mechanic is extremely well done here
but i don't think i have the patience to deal with this kind of design anymore

This is a generational JRPG. Truly one of the best. It is a Final Fantasy in everything but title/name. Amazing characters, story, and soundtrack. Very deep and rewarding gameplay, probably the best iteration of the job system in SQEX Final Fantasy and adjacent games. An excellent remake of an excellent game.
I played 90% of the game on Steam Deck docked, it runs very well I had zero performance issues. The only weird thing I saw occasionally while on playing docked on Steam Deck was sometimes when menu-ing in combat, when highlighting the target for an ability the character/monster model/sprite would flicker for a bit.

One of the best JRPGs ever made. Great writing, great voice cast, amazing music, and fun and enjoyable combat. If you like the classic JRPGs, you'll love this game. This section is pretty short simply because everything mentioned here is genuinely top tier, you don't need paragraphs, when I say this game is a 10, I mean it.
The only negatives with this game. There is a part of the game that can feel very repetitive due to having a lot of back tracking travel to do, but the game has baked in options to reduce encounter rates. I never had issues with this part of the game, but I hear a lot of people complain about it. Just remember, you can always turn off random battles if you feel like the back tracking is taking too long. The only REAL complaint I have is this is an HD remaster, but this game was made for the 3ds, and it shows a bit. The screen being much larger and showing more detail really shows how little detail was put into characters mouths, for example. As long as you can overlook some aged graphics, it's still an amazing game.

A great remaster of quite frankly one of the main reasons to own a 3DS back in the day - a fun classic inspired JRPG with a robust job system. Perfect for whether you're doing sessions at home or on your Steam Deck, just go play it honestly it's fun.
