What is this dlc?: its a reenactment of the ending scene from Alien (1979) with some alien isolation stuffs like logs and loot scattered about the level, its cool but not an entire side story or expansion like i was expecting. Do yourself a favor and only play this once, I played it all 3 characters thinking I'd get new angles/viewpoints on the same event or even maybe different (alternate/non-canon) endings lol smh i was expecting too much. I wanted at the very least some cool new colorful dialogue, not... really? Took me 2 hours on my first run because I suck ass and also like to take in the sights and look for everything. An additional half hour for the 2 other characters Considering how much effort went into the base game, the dlcs are exactly that bonus content and while short or skip-able by some I enjoyed it for what its worth and bought it on sale. I would've gotten it full price on launch to support the game if I could've known about it back then.

I really don't want to speak badly on this game in any way but I genuinely had a terrible time playing this DLC, I beat Alien Isolation on hard mode recently, and while I was finally relieved I beat the game because it was very long, I kind of just wanted a mode of the game where I can just play a mission and complete tasks while surviving the Xenomorph, so I tried survivor mode but I wasn't a fan of the time limit and the fact that I couldn't seem to set the difficulty anywhere. This lead me to look to the DLC's and the first one was crew expendable. I saw the mixed reviews beforehand but I still thought at worst I would find it mediocre. So I played it a day later and for the first 5-10 minutes I thought the DLC was great and I was having a good time sneaking around the Alien and meeting the other members of the crew. Everything was fine until the very final objective in which I was required to lure the Alien into the airlock. This made the DLC go from simple but fun to mind-numbingly tedious to borderline unplayable in the span of about 5 minutes. I probably wasted a good 20 minutes just sitting in the mini locker outside of the airlock waiting for the Xenomorph to go in there and it just never went in, like it wasn't part of it's pathfinding at all and because the level does not let you know prior that you will need noise devices like flares or noisemakers and doesn't make it obvious to find them, I had nothing to lure the alien in there . I tried improvising by waiting for the Xenomorph to go back in the vent and then I would go into the airlock to run around and make noise, I even used the flamethrower before going to back my hiding spot, absolutely no reaction from the Alien, in fact all it did was inspect my locker again despite the noise I made not even being in the same room as the locker. So really for the final minutes all I got was me not moving at all while hiding in the locker with the Xenomorph every couple of minutes coming to inspect the locker I was hiding in forcing me to slowly drain my health bar holding my breath each time. At this rate, I knew I would die if I didn't hurry up so at some point I got too impatient, stopped holding my breath too early and died. I was generally so mad I didn't want to play it again. Such a disappointing end to what I thought was going to be a great DLC, if you do still want to play this DLC regardless of reading this please make sure to look for flares around the map.
