Once upon a time, in a dark and twisted fairytale land, a little girl in a red hood set out on a journey of revenge. She had a cool axe, some decent acrobatics, and a tragic backstory. Unfortunately, she also had a game that felt like it tripped over its own cape.
Let’s start with the good stuff: Woolfe is visually stunning, with a dark, gothic art style that brings its world to life. The atmosphere? Absolutely nailed it. The music? Hauntingly beautiful. The premise? A fairytale revenge story with an axe-wielding Red Riding Hood? Sign me up!
But then… there’s the gameplay. The platforming can be more frustrating than a wolf in grandma’s clothing, thanks to floaty controls and a camera that seems determined to sabotage every jump. Combat feels more like wildly flailing around and hoping enemies just give up. And the bugs—oh, the bugs! Some enemies just forget they exist, and there’s a solid chance Red might fall through the world, vanishing into the void like a bedtime story with no ending.
The biggest tragedy? The story never got to be fully told, since the developers went bankrupt before finishing the planned sequel. So while Woolfe sets up an intriguing mystery, it leaves you hanging like a half-eaten gingerbread house.
If you love dark fairytales and don’t mind janky platforming, Woolfe is worth a try—just be ready for some frustration along the way. Think of it like a beautiful but slightly cursed storybook: lovely to look at, but you might end up rage-quitting before reaching “happily ever after.”

Game feels unfinished, it is short
by itself game plays fine and is easy to finish
I had only 1 problem with last boss, he did not take any damage, it looked like you cannot hit him too fast, you need to wait for his attacks to be done so he can take damage(played on hard)
but ending really feels unfinished, yet still a good game
