Apparently your multiplayer rank is completely reset every time you close the game. I don't know if this was intentional or not, but grinding ranks takes such an insanely long time that you'll basically never be able to use the high level weapon unlocks, because you'll be tired of playing after you finally get to a high rank and your progress will be reset when you come back. I completely gave up on the admittedly fun arcade mode because of this, which means that the DLC was a complete waste of money.
