Grand Campaing 44 West takes you from the Italian mountains, fighting against Allied troops into France. From D-Day to Market Garden you fight against more and more Allied troops. Funnily enough most of the missions are still very defensive oriented. Defending the beaches in D-Day to defending Caen, defending the bridges as a ton of paratroopers assault you... Its still very fun, I think this might be one of the first ever strategy games where I like defending more then attacking. +The maps and how many units both you and the enemy can bring to the battle has increased. It does feel like it got too big too fast but I like big maps and tons of units so I don't mind it. +Similar to Grand Campaing 42-43 West after most missions in the debrief you still get a "this is what happened IRL" section where it tells you about how that operation went IRL. Its a small thing but I really like it. -As usual the game still does crash. Its really weird cuz some campaings are fine from beginning to end and some are like this one where it just crashes when it wants. Usually its predictable, if you get a scripted event like a text box popping up to let you know of something it'll crash but in this campaing I've had just random crashes with nothing happening. I don't remember if I mentioned it before but I do really like playing an Allied campaing and then an Axis campaing. For example in Allied Corps you fight for a lil while in Africa as the Allies. In Afrika Korps you do the same thing, fighting in Africa but this time as the Germans. In Grand Campaing East series you can almost get to Moscow and in Soviet Corps DLC you get to defend Moscow. This back and forth is fun and the same obviously applies here, in the Grand Campaing West series. Its fun to fight in Italy again, in France again but this time fighting as the other side.
