In Grand Campaing 44 East we slowly but surely fall back from the Russian lands, falling back towards Europe and ending the campaing in Budapest trying to save it from the Russian horde. As usual you get new, fun toys to play with like some new recon units, Jagdtigers and... King Tigers and Me 262s? Even Me 163s? Things get a bit silly. The game still tries to be historical but it does give you some fun toys to play with. Here is the issue with that: The game might wanna be historical while giving you fun new units but... You don't have to be historical. You can win your missions, even get decisive victories by not only defending the cities you have but capturing Russian held cities but the game, no matter how good you are will force you to fall back into Europe. The entire "you have done very well! You've snatched victory from the jaws of defeat! You get a decisive victory! Unfortunately you must still abandon this area and fall back because the rest of the army is fucked" situation just becomes a joke after a while.
+New units, late war stuff. They are... Not bad but you don't need them especially with some of them having essentially no fuel so they need supplies all the time.
+Fun missions. There's a mission for Warsaw uprising which is very fun and scary. I still remember Stalingrad... That fucking mission...
-The Russians out numbering you starts to get REALLY bad. Its like for each tank you have they'll have 10+. Sure Russians made more tanks, its meant to be this way bla bla but like it comes to the point where it stops being fun. Anything above the easiest difficulty setting becomes a torture its been like that for a while now but it just gets worse and worse. That can be fun in its own way but you gotta be careful about it cuz even though the hard battles are fun to play, the harder difficulties make winning and surviving so much more enjoyable sure but they at the same time absolutely RUIN the gameplay itself. It starts to become a chore, becomes annoying.
-Even if you do really well, even if you get decisive victories it does not matter you WILL fall back. Sure its historical but killing anything I come across with my army made up of Panthers and King Tigers with 262s flying in the air just to be told that I have to fall back because even though I did well the rest of the army didn't that gets really old, really boring because it happens all the time now.
44 East is where things start to get way too silly. The game has been hard for a while now, you've been out numbered for a while but now it starts to get on a whole another level. It starts to turn into a chore. Is the DLC bad? No. Did I have fun? Yeah. Would I have had fun had I been playing on an harder difficulty? I probably wouldn't even be able to finish this campaing. This is where instead of saying "yeah I really enjoyed it, I recommend it" I'm starting to say "I liked it because I like the game itself and its more of the game I like but you should think twice before buying it" thankfully you don't actually have to do that cuz you can't buy the DLC itself. The only way to get Panzer Corps on Steam is to buy the gold edition which comes with all DLC automatically so... All good I suppose! Still you get the point this is the time where in the Grand Campaing series things have started to become boring. I'm giving the DLC a thumbs up but instead of giving a thumbs up or down if I could give a mixed review I would give a mixed review.

Some excellent scenarios in this one, both offensive and defensive, and the high point of the Grand Campaign so far for me. Also the hardest scenarios to date.
Vilna is just epic.
Budapest being the most interesting defensive scenario I've played, where weather plays a major factor.
