Takes The Typing of the Dead off the rails and makes every single typo you make cost big. Not for the faint of heart.

very cool. After trying the demo and did regular difficulty with the first mission I chose to redo it now with the official purchase at a higher typing speed and difficulty. I'm getting extremely stressed out even thinking about making a typo in this review so I figure that means the games good.
I do think the game needs more work with the way solo is done. Clumping with enemies leads to situations that sometimes genuinely makes it impossible to make it out. I'm sure that maybe it's a matter of picking up boards and boarding up certain pathways to help keep it clear for when the meter fills inevitably, but if more than one enemy is close by it forces you to take a hit, and I don't feel the quantity of bullets given to the player is plentiful enough to allow this. I mean I still made it through after carefully moving to the more open area before it happened so I could pick off a few that lost tracking each time I looped. Maybe that's intentional, maybe I'm missing something.
What I think the game definitely needs is a pause for solo. At a certain point I noticed the game wasn't playing nice with the gunfire and blood splatters mid combat so I tried to pause to enable vsync since that was the issue. Wasn't nice to find out that the game keeps running when paused so that screwed me over and it's definitely an oversight to not allow a pause in solo play.
Still, loving the game. Hope there's more content coming!

I've played half a dozen of these typing games recently and have a decent time. This is by far my favorite. It give the resident evil vibes with the resource management and zombies which is amazing. But also being able to play co op is S ranked. You can choose different characters with special abilities and unique stats which is nice for replay ability. One thing that can be difficult is turning left and right you have to use left shift and right shift, I have never even touched right shift on my keyboard accidently in my life so that took some getting used to. If you are a fan of typing games at all, and enjoy horror / spooky games I highly recommend.

Look - I don't know what the fanbase is for typing horror games.. this game, an homage to the classic 'Typing of the Dead' proves that I'm not alone in thinking this strange mash-up of genres is amazing.
So is it a *good* homage? The answer is a resounding yes. It offers a certain level of frenetic strategy, choosing your target, and beats 'Typing' by actually being surprisingly scary when you open a door and are confronted with multiple monsters. The fumbling your fingers to try and move or attack or choose which creature really does give a feeling that's hard to replicate in games.
Also, kudos to them for not explaining everything. There's very little hand-holding, which makes for a much better experience with your first few attempts feeling like a 'try and die' experience until you get a hold of what you are supposed to be doing.
High recommendations - I'd buy another game in the series without giving it a second thought.

This game is really fun for both single player and multi-player. I haven't played it a ton but the time i have spent playing it i really enjoyed. The style of the game is very stylistic and enjoyable to look at and there seems to be a lot of content. This is definitely a game worth trying if you're on the fence. 4/5 would certainly recommend

Very good game, wish there are more levels. The boss didn't really have a mechanic other than adds phase sadly.
If there is a dlc with the same amount of content as the base game would be nice, maybe with like 2 new characters and a new weapon.
I really hope if there is a dlc, instead of typing bunch of random gibberish words half of the time, we actually need to type actual words, would be cool.
Never had a bug and the proximity chat feels nice. Some rooms had too much echo tho, would be nice to lower it down.
Very good game, 8.4/10.

This game RULES. Both with friends and alone (I believe it has adaptive difficulty that scales with the number of players, so you can do levels solo). There's nothing quite like a horde of zombies slowly closing in—or worse, one BIG zombie with a billion word-hitpoints and a creepy design—to take you from Expert Typist to Fumbling Fool. It's not long but it's also cheap, so I don't find it a problem.
The game has no mechanic to save you from your typos, just a Ctrl-Backspace command to insta-erase a word. A command you're liable to completely forget about the moment you get flustered. Unless you've committed it to muscle memory, you'll generally just end up spamming backspace in horror as whatever enemy you're facing carves chunks off your health bar. And with ranged weapons, typos are even MORE devastating, as they'll cause your weapon to backfire and you'll lose precious ammo. (That also means COMMUNICATION IS KEY in multiplayer, because someone finishing a word you're trying to type before you will ALSO make your gun backfire.)
Some people have complained about this. I see NO PROBLEM with a "Don't count typos towards the word" and/or "Erase word if a typo is made" option being added for accessibility's sake, BUT... this element is one of the main reasons Blood Typers manages to be such a tense experience. I don't think this game's most cheek-clenching moments (ex. The time I was trapped in an elevator desperately fending off a horde while my friend kept failing to fix the panel that'd let us escape) would've been nearly as scary if the game erased my mistakes for me.
That being said, I understand wanting more noticeable feedback for screw-ups if nothing else. It's SUPER easy to get through most or all of a word and not realize you added an extra "a" to "attribution" until it's too late. But that also adds to the tenseness...
As a final note: While Blood Typers has a tutorial, it also wants you to figure things out on your own and leaves a good amount of stuff unexplained. Some mechanics are easier to discover than others. The "safe mode" barriers had my group wandering the first level for an embarrassingly long time trying to figure them out, but the game nudges you in the right direction with the contract used to begin the first level, so it's nothing your average joe can't figure out. Other things just kinda exist and you either notice them or you don't.
So yeah. Fun game. I wouldn't mind a full-length survival horror game done in this style (Blood Typers is a series of short levels that change layout a bit if replayed). That final dash to the elevator at the end of each level is exhilarating. If you like survival horror, survival horror multiplayer, or just want a more intense way to increase your WPM, give it a shot!!!

- Great typing game.
- Up to 4 player coop with a selection of 8 characters with unique perks/abilities.
- 5 unique maps along with level generation so every time you replay a map, it's different.
- Has a demo you can try out before you purchase the full game.
The only negative is at first not knowing you had to turn off safe mode. Me and my friends were stuck wondering what to do for a while.
