It's a very quick, short game that doesn't overstay its welcome. I was able to finish the main story at the highest difficulty in 74 minutes and pretty much get all achievements in 100.
I got into this game from following The Citadel's developer and seeing as to how closely related it is to that game with how both games reference one another, I went into this hoping to fill the void Beyond Citadel left out, craving for a game similar to it.
This game feels a whole lot more arcade-y and simpler by all means but I don't think it's an entirely bad thing. I like the different approach with it being more retro and old-school, even with the fact you can't look up and down.
The "melee kill = middle finger + invincibility" is what got me into this, thinking of the sick plays you can make.
Unfortunately, with this being my only big "wish" for this game is that it felt like it would've been more enjoyable if it was a bit faster-paced, I think a game that encourages you to melee and take advantage of the invincibility a whole lot more would've made this stand out. While I do get it's supposed to be a high-risk high-reward, it's just not as doable nor is it really worth-it in the highest difficulty.
The game isn't so difficult to the point it feels unfair at times while not being too easy to the point you can just mindlessly run around and shoot willy-nilly. You get lots of satisfying kills and a pretty fun story with lovable, charismatic characters. An issue I can see happening with most people is the ENG translation, it's a bit rough and crooked; and the UI can be all funky-wunky, although I personally don't mind it myself as it adds character to the game.
The soundtrack is pretty fun and I do love the fact at the end of the game, you can choose which character to sing the ED along with the Developer themselves being an option. It gave me a big smile on my face.
I can't say for certain this is a great buy that can be justified by all means but it's fun enough for me to see that it can be a non-regrettable one; although do manage your expectation for its quality and don't come into it thinking it's going to be your next favourite game.

Pretty good Doom-like, you cannot change the controls. I think the base difficulty is pretty easy until 3/4 of the game where it really gets hard, bosses are nice, good soundtrack.
Overall, solid, does the job, and does it well.
I just wish i could rebind my controls and be able to continue from the level i left last time i played, i got spoiled a few levels because i didnt know which level to load in.

bullets have hitstun so chaining melee is optimally done via intermixing handgun and machete to not get shot by cultists and simultaneously wombo combo groups of cultists, which is fun

Great short boomer shooter from Japan, gory with a real DIY aesthetic to it. Giving enemies the finger after melee killing them never gets old. Worth checking out if you enjoyed the CItadel series and want to check out more of the Japan indie FPS scene.

I've never really been into Doomlikes but I bought this on a whim and shockingly I like it. The art and animations are cute, the soundtrack is good, the enemy variety though a bit repetitive are enough to be challenging on harder difficulties.

Quicky explained: This game is The Citadel but just less of everything. Shorter, less weapons, less enemys, less gore, less details, less sexual stuff. It's still worth picking up and really fun!
detailed explanation: It's a short yet fun Waifu with Raifus game. The game isn't really hard (I played at hard mode) And I beat most of the levels in one go. There is also a fun Arena mode that can be beaten quickly but you can always try to best your last highscore. The game also has 11 achievements. You get 9 of them for playing through the story, tutorial and Arena mode. The other three are secrets that are hidden within special levels of the story missions. I really like the graphics, soundtrack, story and design. The only thing I didn't like that much was the voice acting but that's not important really. Overall I enjoyed my expirience!
