I just wish the rest of the Stranger Things games were still on Steam

Canonicity of this is not known, but it does take some parts from the Netflix series.
SPOILERS
The gameplay abilities compared to what it says in the description are lackluster; sure, you can grab, crush and throw enemies and some objects, but the bits where you relive memories as Henry get stale quickly, as the game has you repeat it every time you fail its fast paced takeover quests. opening portals in the game mostly equates to the aformentioned takeover quests, where you as Henry go around and take over the minds of opponents, each level/world being a platformer/maze style area. there are a few bits in the first few chapters of the game where you see flashbacks of Henry's life as a child but they are non interactive besides being able to crush bugs.
The invading dreams and memories part described in the description isn't really anything amazing, with the "manipulation" parts just being Venca saying discouraging and hurtful messages to characters, that affect nothing.
SPOILERS
The later parts of the game are even less interesting than the first parts, as one level has you play as the fleshy mind flayer monster from season 3 of the show, and all you do is tentacle-stab a cabin while incomprehensible muffled sounds of the characters can be heard inside. Some other moments feature scenes inspired by the show itself, which, if you've already seen the show to completion, may get tiresome.

Just watch someone else play it, it offers hardly any game actual gameplay, its more so just a story driven game with light gameplay elements, most of my time was either walking through a maze, or listening about the show I've already watched

The powers and game play would be so much better if it wasn't so restricted towards the story. It feels like a walking simulator with a few powers we can use. The overall story is OKAY but it doesn't feel like Stranger Things at all. The telekinesis feels generic as well as other game play mechanics. I'd suggest just watching a no commentary play through of the game because it would be more enjoyable. Only buy the game if it's at least 40% off.

This game is a must-have for Stranger Things fans. It provides deeper insight into the lore of the show and reveals what Vecna/Henry has been up to since Eleven banished him to Dimension X in 1979. As of writing this review, I haven't finished the game yet, but it's already clear to me what story the game is trying to tell. As a die-hard Stranger Things fan who's been part of the community since 2016, I firmly believe this game is canon.
The game doesn’t have much traditional gameplay—it's more of an interactive story—but a very compelling one! The main gameplay features include using Henry’s telekinesis powers and controlling Mind Flayer particles to delve into other people’s minds and uncover their weaknesses.
The graphics have a cartoon-like style, reminiscent of Telltale Games.
I've seen other reviews suggesting people should just "watch" someone else play, but I strongly disagree. This is a VR game that you need to experience firsthand from your own point of view to fully appreciate it.

After seeing the negative reviews, I was worried about how good this game would be. After playing, I can assure you that this game is incredible. The scenery, the plot, and the action is all very fun once you get used to the mechanics. If you're a real Stranger Things fan who loves the plot, the upside down and Vecna I definitely would recommend. 10/10
