Echoes of the Backrooms is a very visually impressive and atmospheric game. The environment is very spooky and mysterious and there are opportunities for the player to investigate and progress into a slowly unfolding drama. Fantastic lighting, and good quality game play. If you enjoy slow burn atmospheric horror. This game is for you! I would have progressed further into the game.... but I was toooo scared....

Pretty good psychological horror backrooms game. Graphically quite demanding.

I enjoyed the ride! Took me a good 2 hours with a mix of walking/running. Level size was great until it got to the Hotel, from there on out it could have been a bit bigger but it was still enjoyable for me. Hope he is still working/expanding on it and doesnt let the other not so positive reviews get to him. Visuals/Audio were great!

ngl this is the best singleplayer Backrooms game so far. as i know this is first game that focused on a psychological horror and it's copes with that unsettling vibe [spoiler](and some jumpscares)[/spoiler]. imo this poolrooms is the first that can REALLY demonstrate liminal spaces (but optimization and my computer says "20 frames per second, bro" for that levels, sadly). This game is worth this price. But there is some issues that i met: [list] [*] [spoiler]in Level 0 when you get caught by Entity you just respawns and... Entity is gone, he not gonna chase you after this and this sucks, you can freely run on this level without fear[/spoiler], [*] optimization: poolrooms says hello, [*] main menu (with setting menu): main menu just sucks, in settings menu hard to setting graphics (so i really can't set post processing and anti-aliasing lol, [*] language translation: too machinery, [*] that goofy jump lol [/list] What can i say? Of course you need to play it (lol its on discount now). With patches and bug fixes the game is cool.

After all the bugs and patches and glitches... the game is... Yeah, it's the backrooms game. The vibe is here. If it runs well - you'll get your Backrooms fix. Recommended

It pains me to give this a negative review because I was really looking forward to it and doesn't look or feel like a bad game, but I had to ask for a refund due to constant crashes and freezing. First freezing happened at the end of level 0, then in the pool rooms also got crashes. Now I tried a dozen times continue the game from where I had stopped because of the crash, and the game just hangs on the loading screen and get stuck there. I had enough of this. Plus, the game is still unpolished and poorly optimized. EDIT: To address the dev's comment: Intel i5 13400 RTX 3060TI 32GB DDR5 RAM Windows 10

I have tried every backroom game on Steam and this one has the most realistic feel to it. There are a few others that are really good but level zero is amazing in this one!!! It does work in VR with UEVR, however you really have to knock down resolution and effects to make a good fps. I would like to make a couple of suggestions to the Developer. First off amazing work sir!!!!!!! I hope this game gets more traction. You deserve it! My suggestions would be a toggle for the vhs grain. I say that because in VR it looks really bad. The second suggestion would be to have a level selection option after the game is beat. This would make revisiting one's favorite atmosphere/level possible. :)
