This is a great Prince of Persia game! The gameplay and mechanics are great! It's been a while since I enjoyed a PoP game this much! It's not the same story we all know, so that's refreshing! It kinda flops at the end, I expected more of it, but it's OK. 8/10 fo sho

I might've said how this game actually is, but I can't play it. Launched it on my steam deck to hit the login page. Unable to skip it by being offline or being in offline mode. I finally just went to sign in, tried to recover my password to no avail, I guess it was on some old email. I tried to make a new account and their site won't let me make an account. I sure don't have any desire to play this when I run into several road blocks just to start the damn game.

Hello, I can say that it was one of the best games I played in a long time and I really enjoyed it. The story was good, there were no bugs, the game was smooth, and the story was unique. I wish Ubisoft would make a sequel to this game and continue it

A really solid metroidvania with fun combo focused combat and some excellent exploration. It's definitely worth picking up during a sale, but the DLC is a bit of a let down. Refreshing to see Ubisoft releasing an extremely polished and enjoyable game, shame they already disbanded the team behind it! Absolutely fantastic game, do yourself a favor and pick it up right now. Let's start with the platforming, this game absolutely knocks it out of the park with the platforming sections and level design as well, especially how well integrated it is with the metroidvania level design, I honestly couldn't get enough of it. Secondly, I want to mention that the movement in this game is very smooth and it's very fun to explore around this game with the dashes and slides, I found myself sometimes ignoring the fast travel mechanic as it is just fun to go to a place and re-do the platforming sections. Combat is very satisfying and fairly deep with a lot of combos, mechanics and enemy variety. The parrying in this game is especially satisfying especially with the amulet that makes it slow down enemies. The bosses are really good and well balanced, they're on the easier side, but one of them in particular, Artaban, is absolutely amazing and very challenging, defeating him gave me a sense of satisfaction I rarely find in similar games and I even went in and fought him again in the boss revenge mode that allows you to re-challenge bosses again. Everything else in this game is really well done including story, plot, dialogue, art direction, art style, audio, music... etc. Everything is just perfect. On the technical side, this game is very polished and I encountered very few minor bugs. My only issue with the game is the last third of it feels a lot easier and more boring than before, and I think it is mainly due to the advanced movement abilities that you unlock, because at that point you can pretty much be anywhere on the screen at any time which I found made the level design a bit lacking and requires little to no percision with the platforming. As for the DLC, it seems to be mixed on the playerbase side, which is surprising to me because I found it just as good as the base game, mainly because it feels like it was supposed to be part of the main game but the publisher wanted to squeeze a bit more money out of its customers oh well. The main complaint I've seen from people is that it's very frustrating and requires perfect percision, which is something I kinda understand but disagree with. The platforming sections are definitely more challenging than the main sections of the base game but there are side areas there that are way harder than anything in the DLC. My favorite thing the DLC added is an amulet that allows you to riposte after a successful parry, which is very satisfying to pull off against bosses, but I wish it was in the early game to allow more uses of it. Overall, I think this game is absolutely amazing and I loved every minute I spent on it. I highly recommend it! P.S. I would also like to mention is that this game takes heavy inspiration from hollow knight, so if you like that game, I think you'll love this one too. A few mechanics are directly lifted from HK, such as amulets/charms and ash pots/grubs.

Lost Crown is a surprisingly good experience. Innovates in the genre with clever ideas, it shows a really polished Metroidvania with same spectacle fighter mishaps stapled to it. It provides a great good and enjoyable experience with, unexpectedly, a lot of optional difficulty during its 30 to 40 hours playtime. Exploring the world is a joy. Uncovering hidden nooks, platforming, fast and fluid traversal, understanding of the world and everything that ties a game like this together. The multiple fast travel systems are well paced to ease moving around the map that keeps growing long after one assumed it wouldn't. The mini map system is very respectful of the player's time, showcasing multiple innovations that should be a standard of the system going forward. From built-in screenshots to mark spots to explore later, to showing one way doors automatically and other QoL features that make it a joy to interact with. The combat system has some depth to it, and it feels more focused around flashiness and spectacle than around precise mechanics, it is implemented very well and delivers close to the precision of Hollow Knight. With its mostly optional parry system, the developers, just like in the souls games, also allow for skipping a lot of the mechanical depth by just pressing the parry button whenever things would otherwise be challenging. Difficulty wise, the core game is very accessible. Even on hard, the boss fights take 1–3 tries and there are multiple ways of easing combat, from power ups to health pickups to the parry button and other mechanics that trivialize most encounters. While the low difficulty might soundlike a downside, given the design of the boss fights it is a blessing. The game starts off well with nicely designed hollow knight or souls style bosses, but as the game progresses things get more shallow and “Ubisoft”. The bosses have longer and longer cutscenes with Shōnen Jump / Dragon Ball style cutscenes that drag on forever and halt the flow of gameplay with a pointless, flashy and self-indulgent monologue of mediocre visual spectacle. One images a boardroom meeting where phrases like “We need something flashy for the trailer” and “But how do we keep the players' attention” and “What is the animation team going to do the next couple month before we lay them all off” were uttered. On top of the story content the game features optional challenge modes, both combat and platforming that are more difficult, if less well-designed, than what even Hollow Knight offers in its Pantheons and Path of Pain. It allows for fighting bosses again, combat and platforming challenges and really pushes the mechanics to their limits. The story line is shallow, forgettable and about as predictable as gravity but only gets in the way at the somewhat slow, beginning of the game and at the very end — mostly leaving the player to enjoy the game. In sum, the game is a nice, polished, if a bit shallow experience that I would recommend to fans of the genre and people that bounced off of games like Hollow Knight and are looking for a more accessible experience that still offers a lot of optional depth and complexity.

Unplayable on Steam Deck. The game requires you to sign in, but refuses to connect to the servers. You're stuck in an endless loop of entering Ubisoft login details, clicking Login, and then the page refreshes saying your session timed out. I wrestled with this for 15 minutes and gave up. Refund. It's too bad, it looks like a fun game and I was excited to play it. But their online requirement and broken servers actively prevent me from playing their game. Ridiculous.

This game is great. Platforming and fights are fun. Bosses are well-designed and their fights are great. Environment and music is also really good. Overall it's really fun to play this game. That being said, you are forced to connect to the Ubisoft Connect which in my case made my game crash constantly forcing me to re-fight some bosses multiple times. This issue only happens with games that require Ubisoft Connect. When I purchase a game on STEAM, I don't wanna have to connect to another game platform, especially if it makes my game crash. Get rid of this and I'll change my vote.

Good thing Ubislop disbanded the entire team after releasing the game. I was worried they were gonna start making good games again.

This game will likely be remembered as one of the great tragedies of modern gaming. Easily the best metroidvania since Hollow Knight, and if the bosses were just a bit more varied it would probably surpass that masterpiece too. Phenomenal movement mechanics, a huge map to explore, challenging platforming and combat and a production value rarely seen in the genre make PoP TLC something very special indeed. And yet we’ll likely never get another game like this from a studio the size of Ubisoft because it didn’t meet their sales expectations. If you’re on the fence about buying this game, do yourself and the gaming community at large a favour and purchase it asap. You won’t be disappointed, and maybe, just maybe, it’ll help convince some suit in a boardroom that games like these are worth making.
