Honestly at the moment I can't really say I'd enjoy the game as is. As someone who plays a lot of roguelikes, it might just be that I'm spoiled, but being forced to play on keyboard is extremely awkward, especially with the control setup as it is at the time I'm writing this review. The game itself is insanely loud but there is no volume control in-game so you have to go into your computer's sound settings to turn down the volume of the game itself, which kind of ruins the experience even more. When you open the settings menu, you can tell the emphasis was put more on the visuals than anything else. The opening menu is ruined by the choice in font (white Roboto font with a black outline) which is as plain as can be. It is a shame because everything else I saw and heard when I first opened the game definitely left an interesting first impression on me. However, I will admit this is most likely just a nitpick on my part. It's just extremely jarring to have this insanely detailed background and then flat white text being the first thing you see. As for gameplay, yeah, the game does hit those basic checkmarks and is definitely something worth considering in the future. However, there is no real que that indicates you've been hit outside of a green health bar which easily gets lost in the middle of a horde of enemies. It's a basic trope and mechanic but 2 easy solutions are a sound effect that goes off, like a generic body thud sound or a grunt, as well as the screen flashing red slightly around the edges to mark "Hey, stupid! You just took damage! Stop that!" I know that it shows that I didn't really have much time put into the game but that was as much as I could honestly stand with the current state of this game. I do at the very least see some promise and I wish the devs the best of luck!~
