This is a game of balance. You have to keep the people happy no matter what. If they ask you to revoke taxes do it. However as soon as you can turn it back on. Only attack the enemies that attack you first. Don't try to build to much at one time. Take you time and keep it balance.

Absolutely great little city builder, and unlike anything else. The gameplay provides incentive to be as efficient and streamlined in your city development as possible. It's a joy min-maxing your industry between home grown produce and trade. I really like how families are handled too, with each following an archetype. Getting traders early on is a real boon. The art is very charming, there's a ton of fun to be had in city layout. The decorative elements are fantastic, though I found myself hankering for more. If the dev reads this, Plazas, more pillar variants, more trees and bushes, maybe fences... You've a ton of space to flesh out the experience laterally here. Placing a wonder is such an epic moment, I want to garnish it with huge modular gardens! High recommended.
