Damn solid foundation. Takes a bit to master but very satisfying once you get the combos in. Altho it feels like some stances are either better or worse than other stances. Can go far with some polish to gameplay, QoL and by adding more features.

Put me in the camp that likes this game. I've eyed this game for over a year, waiting to add it to my library but the clear love or hate divide for it kept me at bay for some time. With the summer sale, I figured "Why am I waiting over a game that costs a few bucks?" Again, glad I make the leap. PROS: The game is fairly close to boxing in the sense that you do need to balance your attacks and defense. If you don't, you're toast. The game does a good job of balancing the fighters you take on in career mode. You sorta of get lulled into believing you can beat them all until you flat out can't and need to train up and learn some new tactics. Knocking out a guy is semi-satisfying. The rag-doll quality makes a solid feeling punch near impossible to experience. Maybe slow mo as to how you drilled a guy (or got drilled by one) would help? I'm in my fighter's infancy and it feels that way as I am sometimes sluggish and the footwork is paltry. I'm going to believe (based on the videos I've seen) that as I progress in career mode, I'll look a lot cleaner, moving better, and striking with more formidably and sense of real landing power. The game is largely focused on boxing. I bought the game to box, no sign NIL deals, see unneeded (and eventually tiring) repeated cut scenes. I want to friggin' hit someone! This gets to that quickly. I debated if this was a pro, but one guy is credited with making this boxing game. It's a testament to his abilities that it works at all and that some of those who've purchased it stand by it. Again, this is not a big cost to invest in and I'm over three hours in and looking forward to adding a lot more time to it. If the referee steps between fighters (which happens semi-often) an errant blow will floor him. It's damn funny. I laugh every time. I have yet to see what happens when he's out and a count in needed. Looking forward to that. CONS: Rag-doll physics cuts both ways. It shows when your character has longer arms and is fatigued and tries to land a shot that was hitting before but it becomes weak and limp. When the boxers are close fighting the arms just don't have the space and strength to hit their marks, which the rag-doll physics shows. This has the effect of making the game seem unpolished but it is actually closer to real than anything. (Again, I see video where as a boxer grows, much of this fades). On the negative side, the rag-doll experience does make any early career knockouts feel random and unsatisfying. Crowd involvement. I'm hoping there's more of this down the line. Where's the lusty sound of people eager for blood when a boxer is close to a knockout? Yep, this is probably lower on the programmer's work list, but please consider enhancing your game this way. There's no tutorial and I'll note that often I despise tutorials because I want to play the game I purchased. However, this one could use it to help practice the moves, swings, blocks and feints. I'm learning as I go but I know I'd be better with the tutorial. The training aspect is not terribly fun but it is quick. Could more be done with it? Yes, but if it means not making the boxing experience even better then forget it. Last note: Those who are frustrated by the early experience may want to consider boxing over slugging. You really can't do that in this game. You need to box. One tactic I've thrived on so far is sending about 75% of my swings low. Aiming for the body is a much higher success rate for landing hits and wears and opponent down. Head hunting is much less successful (like actual boxing) and leaves you fatigued and open to knockouts. It is satisfying pounding the body? Not really, but there's boxing for you. It's not always thrilling and real boxing includes a lot of attacks that look boring. Ha, yeah, I'm making this game sound bad, but those who watch boxing, or have boxed, may see this differently. For the cost of a friggnin' cup of coffee (which is outrageous) you can decide for yourself and not sweat being out a few bucks.

I only play this because it's cheaper than undisputed and fight night champion isn't on pc, it plays like a sloppy mobile game theres almost no fluidity in the gameplay but i guess for the price compared to other games like it it's not too bad
