Command & Conquer: Generals – Zero Hour — An RTS That Refuses to Die
As a big fan of Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars, I somehow skipped Generals: Zero Hour for years—and that was a mistake.
The campaign is clearly not meant to be taken too seriously. It's over-the-top, cheesy, and full of stereotypes, but that's part of its charm. The real highlight is the multiplayer. Even after all these years, the community is still alive, with many players using Radmin VPN to keep online matches going.
What makes Zero Hour so addictive is its variety. Every general has unique abilities and strategies, making each match feel different and rewarding.
And if I had to describe the game in one sentence: it gives you the chance to experience the true taste of American democracy... one airstrike at a time.
Despite its age, Zero Hour remains one of the best classic RTS games ever made. If you're a fan of the genre, it's still well worth playing today.

Remember playing this with a TOTALLY legal copy of this game on my old iMac when I was about 10 years old. Bought it again to eventually play with my dad, got addicted again. Good EA game which is crazy. Very nostalgic.

The game won't save any progress. Been spending hours to troubleshoot it but still no luck. Waste of time and money.

Fun game, it's up to 8 players only because some maps have 8 checkpoints for players on the map, I don't know if you can have more than 8 players if you download a fan made map but it sounds like its possible.
Multiplayer on here is still alive!
but again not alot of people play this game so its best with friends, can't figure it out??
To enable Multiplayer, Online Servers you need to download GenTools just read below How to.
How to:
Just go to "cnc-online.net" and on there you want to (register) an account, remember.. it will ask you a username and password for the website account first, AND THEN it will ask to make one for your in-game account meaning Zero Hour online display info. so when you launch the game and go to Online, it will ask for your email, age, and password. whatever info you register on the website I strongly advise to save on a notepad or on a picture so you never forget because its a pain to recover an account for this website.
Multiplayer FPS lags!! (doesn't mean your new PC is garbage, its an in-game common issue)
just google "GenTool Home" this website is what people get to fix/patch the issue and to unlock higher resolutions. (on the website) on the far left side under "Download" as of right now it has two arrows to download the .exe or .zip version of the patch, The .exe will install onto Zero hour and or Generals by your choice. the Zip download means you drag and drop files into the folder the game is located in for it to work, both methods fixes the FPS spikes on multiplayer, but one of these methods can add resolution unlocked options. EA launcher has no issues, but this Steam version had an issue with the .exe installer for gentools so i had to go with the zip folder download option instead but I don't know if that was fixed.
After you dropped the files or used the .exe installer you just launch the game and use the "INS" also known as the "Insert" key to pull up the GenTool Menu to adjust Display frame rate,
So now you can play Online with stable FPS! Good luck and if this was helpful click thumbs up so more people can get the support.
Side note: closing the game will launch a black CMD window adding community maps and or ther multiplayer info that you will see on the next game launch but its not an issue, just close it when its done or while in progress.
