This games looks great, runs well...but the controllers vibrate constantly as your hands detect transport nodes, with no apparent option to turn that off. Further, there is no option for smooth locomotion, so you have to "transport" every two seconds, which is disorienting. Great for those who struggle with motion sickness, sure, but the option would be nice. I am refunding this purchase.

Tested using Valve Index, oc RTX 3090, i9 10900K (10 cores/20 threads, 5.3 GHz), 32GB 3200 MHz, Win10 Pro. The game works fine with the Valve Index, but there is no finger tracking (like Maze Theory provided in Peaky Blinders). The game uses teleportation, there is no full locomotion. Also there is only snap turning. Generally you have no options but seated or room scale - this is a 1:1 Quest port explaining the lack of graphics settings. There is no MR content in the SteamVR version. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3287679709 Due to being a Quest port, performance is awesome - you can probably play this using an old GTX 970 just fine - and there may be some value for some users in that. I'm using an oc'ed RTX 3090 (40 tflops), about 20 times faster than Quest 3's phone gpu (Adreno 740 with about 2 tflops, also reduced by Meta to save battery). This means I'm getting solid 90 fps using an insane Index res 500% - that's 45 million pixels per frame combining both eyes (remember, 4K tv uses 8 mill pixels per frame, 8K tv uses 32 mill - to put 45 mill into perspective). Extreme res does come in handy to reduce jaggies, as this game has no settings for antialiasing. So do turn up res as much as possible, and PCVR will provide a sharp image quality with no jaggies - far beyond any Quest version, where jaggies are a great issue, here according to UploadVR: "It’s immediately apparent when playing on Quest 3 that its beautiful graphics are being impacted by some serious aliasing. This game has some hard angles as part of its architecture and a lot of contrast between light and dark areas, so the aliasing really shows through in most scenes". https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3287663844 Graphics are neither good nor bad - the game is cleverly designed to hide the low-poly environments. Textures are fine, some are high-res. There are no dynamic shadows, but some simple real-time lighting can be found. A npc made in 3D is your guide and helps communicate some story elements - but this is more or less a dead world. A voice-over instead of a mute npc guide would have been much better - much of what the guide is trying to communicate is lost, I still wonder exactly what devs tried to say with the ending of the game, lol. The puzzles are fun, and the game is rather easy - so coming from Riven VR, this is a walk in the park - but a cosy walk, and provides some nice relaxation. The 5 small chapters are not amazing, but repetitive - especially the last chapter 5 is way too easy and feels like made in a hurry just for the sake of making more content. The game generally is so easy, kids can play it too. Controls work fine, but after having finished a level in seated mode, I have to move some small statue from one postion to another. This was not possible due to bad centering - the devs should fix this. A solution is to recenter using SteamVR, and that worked. https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3287672384 In general the game is nicely polished, at least more than many other VR games, but controls could be slightly improved. I do not see why this game cannot support full locomotion with some added ability to teleport - and smooth turning. Some places you need to teleport from one side to another, but using a combo of full locomotion and teleport like in Alyx, controls could be improved. Graphics are not enhanced for PCVR - you get phoneVR graphics, but it works ok for this puzzle game when using tons of supersampling. For the game's current low price, I'd rate the game 6/10 overall, the best level (chapter 4) is 7/10. Many will probably be able to finish the game in 2 - 3 hours. Knowing the puzzles, the replayvalue might be very low. The game needs many more levels, and it feels like a small tech demo.
