what am I even doing here? the game mechanics are.... icky. they throw you in with an axe and basically say "okay good luck" maybe I'll come back in a year to see how the game has progressed.

Okay, when they say early access... They mean early access. No dialogue, no direction, 2 screenshots of story. You can't sleep, aren't told to make a sword before night falls, so you don't get killed, etc. Definitely needs waaaay more work before it's worth anything money-wise. Has potential though.

Just WOW... I am pretty open minded and give a lot of games the benefit of the doubt but this one takes the cake. Using Early Access as an excuse to release this game should be a crime. Where should I start? Within 10 minutes I "explored" the entire map (and effectively played the entire game it has to offer)**, first you're clicking around like an idiot trying to figure out what you're even able to do. You start with an axe, a house (that you can only walk into but otherwise can't interact with), a crafting table and a lifeless girl called Mira or whatever who sells you seeds. Click on your axe go to a tree, chop-chop, collect the wood then go to your crafting table. Using your wood and later stone you can craft your tools, a basket (?) which i wasn't able to interact with and a sword. For now, Mira stands there useless to the world until you figure out how to make money to buy seeds. So now nightfall comes, a bat comes squeaking at me so i slash at it haphazardly until it finally dies and boom, coins. Don't bother trying to sleep, you can't and yes, the bats just waltz into your home. You are not safe inside, nor are you safe during crafting mode, buying from Mira and definitely after clicking ESC which sends you to the main page of the game. Next day starts, bought some seeds planted them and had nothing to do but to wait for nightfall again. I decided to experiment and see what happens if i die, besides the obvious. So firstly, it took surprisingly ALL NIGHT for ONE bat to chomp me until i died, you don't get ambushed at least either, as long as one bat is alive no others spawn, and once i died you guessed it i returned to the Main Page and had to start over. That's all folks. Literally. No tutorials / no information All you can do is press TAB and you can see your inventory slots (no bag, nothing) I think "O" and one other letter brings up the 2 panels of short text considered as Story at the beginning. And that's it. If this Dev is serious and it's not a scam, then we shall see with upcoming updates, but i'm not wasting 8 Euros waiting around for that to happen. Just WOW.

Like others have stated...this game is unplayable. Nothing works..no tutorial. When you use the workbench to make a tool (there are only 5 items in the entire game), it either doesn't work as intended, or simply wont work at all. There are no quests or any guide on how to interact with the 1 merchant. You walk up to her and she wants money for seeds. But there is no currency in the game. The inventory doesn't let you move anything around yet there is a huge bag of space. There is a house to go into and when you do go in at night... the enemies follow you in and kill you. Yet there is no way to fight them off, nor is there any way to restore your health. You cant use the storage bin in the house or use the bed in the house. Usually a bed in these types of games...is used to save your progress or restore health/skip the night. The save feature doesn't work either. If you press a button that the game doesn't like, it brings you to the main menu and plays the opening story again, at which point, you lose all progress. This game has red flags all over it. I feel if the developer wants to prove it is not an attempt at taking advantage of players, he will fix it and add the content that is shown in the video and fix all the issues. The game would benefit from game-pad support also. The game also needs a thorough tutorial. Make everything functional and work the way they are intended to. Everything needs to make sense. The price of the game is very high and is nowhere near what a game should be when priced at this amount. An example would be the game Forager. The price of Forager was actually lower than this game's price when it came out. It is very clear, that in order to have this price point, it should be of amazing quality and well worth the amount paid. Lamu is more like a game in the concept stage, offered as a demo and is usually always free when at this stage. Lamu should not have any price on it at all. Buyers beware. I had no choice but to refund it. If the game is fixed and the demo is updated with those fixes in place, I will rebuy it and change the review. Until then I feel very strongly that it is some sort of scam. At a minimum...it is very shady.
