I kinda wish steam had a middle of the fence review option.
I did enjoy the game and actually found the gimmick fun, I've never seen something executed like this nor this well. The bosses feel bland as they're not very complex but are still fun to fight against regardless. The one thing that sets this back for me is the rng for runs. It never feels like you've improved at the game as the upgrades you can get have no weight to them, meaning that when you reroll it's very much possible to get an upgrade that is useless or less important than what you need. I saw myself getting a mod off the workshop that allowed you to customize each upgrades drop chance.
Overall it's a cool game with a fun gimmick. but it feels held back by seemingly unbalanced shop system.
