A really good roguelike platformer. It's developed tremendously during Early Access and, in terms of mechanics, actually plays like Hades in 2D. Absolutely recommended.
Richtig gutes Roguelike-Jump N Run. Hat sich im Laufe des Early Access toll entwickelt und spielt sich tatsächlich hinsichtlich der Mechaniken wie Hades in 2D. Absolute Kaufempfehlung.

This is a genuinely impressive rendition of the iconic Prince, I am not a fan of roguelite games, but this game is truly special! The combination of combat and traversal really works well! Coupled with the overall narrative they are telling, drip fed through each run, left me quite excited for another run upon the end of the current one.
A few qualms I do have, I think there are some QoLs needed, at times I found the boss health too much versus the weapons I had to fight them, so any tuning here would be great. I also think something similar to the 'Assist Mode' they had in Dead Cells will only open this game to a broader audience, one who are daunted by the roguelite nature but are fans of the Prince himself.
Overall, I have absolutely enjoyed my time with this and as fan of the Prince of Persia games think this has a strong chance to rank high in the series if they support it further.

Some of the smoothest parkour in any game I've played ever. 10/10 game can't wait for the full release!

Incredibly well done Roguelike! The beautifully done set of ancient Persia is laid - more accurate than other Prince of Persia games by a good margin - ASADI's traditional music takes it to another level, and you maneuver the terrain with just the right speed, effortless to parkour but harder when surrounded. It's gameplay is one of the best around; the feeling of overcoming more and more difficult fights with split-second dodges, taking down much stronger enemies with very risky but equally satisfying chain of kicks, attacks and combined abilities is fantastic.
For negatives I would say the story could be deepened more. And maybe some of the bosses can have a few or faster attacks.
Edit: a few weapons can be balanced as well
Great EA experience overall!

This game is so addicting ! I particularly love the art style and the music. You can level up and keep your upgrades so the next runs are easier. There are new places to explore and new lore to discover in each new run. I'd love to play a full Metroidvania with this style. I think a mix between this game and The Lost Crown is what this franchise needs to come back in full force.
I will 100% be there for a sequel !!!

Loved Prince of Persia growing up. I honestly didn't think I would enjoy this version as i haven't played a Side-Scroller since Mario. Since I love Action Rouge like games i figured to try it, I'm happy I did. Amazing game. I can't wait for more content.

The Rogue Prince of Persia feels like a spiritual successor to Dead Cells with a stylish Prince of Persia coat of paint. Movement is fast paced and fluid, akin to older Prince of Persia instalments. Combat is simple yet satisfying, but occasionally becomes frantic whenever multiple enemies are present in later levels. The game slowly opens up as you go and introduces new biomes with distinct color schemes, each featuring new weapons and perks to unlock. I would like to see the game differentiate itself even further from Dead Cells besides its fluid parkour-like movement, for instance by increasing the enemy variety, puzzle/trap sections, and procedurally generated subsections.
Whereas the visuals initially put me off due to the cartoony hand-drawn art style, the music specifically hooked me in from the moment I started the game. Composer Asadi did an excellent job in blending traditional Persian instruments with electronic beats. It truly amplifies the movement and combat gameplay.
Performance-wise the game runs great, difficulty-wise it poses a decent challenge, content-wise it is still lacking. I am sure the latter will improve over time given the game's growth and updates during early access.
I'm eager to continue playing and look forward to what version 1.0 has to offer.
I recommend this to anyone that likes Dead Cells, roguelites, Prince of Persia games and/or 2D platformers.

You know it's good when I just died, and the very next thing that comes out of my mouth is, "This game is awesome."
It's been just over an hour and yet I've seen so many good design choices in this game. The biggest one is the emphasis on thoughtful movement and positioning which is seldom present in most 2D action games.
Let's start with something most will recognize--the dodge. In this game, your dodge does not give you full invincibility for the duration; but it does launch you forward, or if near an enemy, vaults you over the enemy. This means that certain attacks will still hit you if you decide to vault, and some attacks actively *punish* you for vaulting. Does this make it bad? Heck no. It's hugely beneficial against a lot of enemies. But its weaknesses limit the applications of what is often a universal option in most games, shining a spotlight on your other tools: wall-running; jumping; pre-emptively stunning enemies.
Did I mention you can kick enemies in this game? Oh yeah. You can kick them into walls or each other to stun them for a considerable amount of time, or kick them into spikes or off ledges for massive damage. But like your dodge, kicking has limits. It deals no direct damage, and some enemies are shielded, making them immune to knockback and stuns. But oh, would you look at that? I can vault over the enemy on my left, putting him between myself and the shielded enemy, then kick him into the shielded enemy to instantly break the shield. I just positioned myself well, used the tools the game gave me optimally, and was rewarded for it.
This right here is game design--giving the player a simple set of tools, and creating scenarios where these tools, applied well, can make the player feel like a genius. Even better, these tools remain relevant in boss fights, which also highlight other movement options like wall-jumping and running in order to evade all kinds of attacks. It's slick. It's effective. It feels natural. And smartly, the roguelite upgrade systems in the game don't overshadow these core mechanics.
Regardless of whether I play this game for 10 hours or 100, whatever this team cooks up next, I am 100% here for it.
