Nope! No frickin' way. No.
It moves SO DAMN SLOW. You see those videos on the store page where attacks are flying off and things are happening? That's not how the game actually plays, AT ALL. Steam should actually be pulling this for bullshots.
You SLOWLY walk through a dungeon, an encounter SLOWLY starts, you SLOWLY charge up some attacks, that then miss, so you SLOWLY build up the next one. No way in hell I'm sitting through these slow ass battles.
Just no.
"Oh well it probably takes a while to -" no shut the hell up. No. This isn't how the game goes when you boot in. If there was a 10x speed then I'd probably play it, but as is this game is just actually unbearable. Completely and totally unbearable.
I never thought I'd refund an idle game, let alone after 10 minutes...but when ONE BATTLE took NINE of those ten minutes...no. No. It's an idle game.

Game starts slow, then you level up, game speeds up, you get some stuff, level more, game speeds up.

I really like the concept. Art, gameplay. At first, checking at howlongtobeat, people finish the main story in 40hrs completionist 100hr. But it depends on the gameplay you choose. At hardest difficulty, using x8, it takes 1400 hours to complete 100%. I want it to be at x1, so the game will last very long, plus new content on the way. I will leave it open on a laptop while working or doing other things.

100%'d the game finally, it is a pretty simple and straight forward game that you will be idling for quite a while. It really didn't feel difficult at all until the very end and even at that point is was more just slamming into a brick wall till you got the right rng to win. Overall not a bad game.

An interesting game, but there's definitely some balance issues that need rethinking. Granted, this is my first idler, but still. I also recognize that I probably couldn't do any better myself.
There is almost no way to access healing magic at first, other than to bring a human (waykin) who will heal the entire party's life/barrier by their level every 30s, which can be improved with casting delay. That's a pretty powerful racial bonus, compared to "forces an ambush every 30 seconds" or "uses a 2 handed attack." I assume the latter works if you equip a shield; like many things, it's not particularly clear. While I'm still near the topic of healing magic, you might be prone to thinking "removes status effects" might prioritize targeting a party member that... has status effects. You'd be wrong. However, the character perk gained at L10 white magic skill makes all single target healing spells instantly target everyone, which neatly fixes the targeting priority and... honestly, why wouldn't you take that perk on a healer?
Woolkin and Shellkin do not have any "barrier" stat of their own. They'll only have whatever you get from the bestiary, or guild traits, or their equipment. Blue barrier regen potions are used if anyone's barrier is below 40%, while purple instant barrier/life restore potions are used if either stat is below 40%. Once you get the bestiary completion that gives 1-10 barrier to all members of your guild, your woolkin and shellkin are going to just be instantly drinking all your blue and purple potions. Purple potions are the only instant restore ones, so with all of that in mind... do those races even have a place in a party, since they'll be drinking all of your purple potions in 1-2 encounters by mid-game? Or should you be optimizing all of their equipment for barrier stat to prevent this, at the expense of any other beneficial stats, just so you can have potions for more than 30 seconds? Barrier and Life don't regenerate until you unlock guild perks (or have equipment with that stat), so ultimately "Barrier" and "Life" are just two different health systems and leave you questioning the point of having them at all. "So you can bypass barrier on enemies with abilities, perks, and spells like poison" you might answer. Does that justify making two races kind of awkward to fit into your party?
More character portraits would obviously be nice, but that takes a bunch of time to create and implement. Custom portraits are possible if you're artistically inclined, which also smooths that wrinkle. I particularly like the gameplay/difficulty sliders when you start a new save to curve experience/money/perk points to your liking. Now that I've put some time into a save, I'd probably bump the perk points slider up, simply because I like the idea of guild perks, and the default setting will leave your perk board painfully empty.
Edit:
Remembered points I forgot to hit, but this review is already far too long.
Accuracy seems kind of low, unless you gear/perk for it. The wear best/gear score system probably doesn't value accuracy very well.
Materials to upgrade the town seem to drop a little too infrequently, but guild perks or just put the dungeon on grind. It's an idler, after all.

This game is really cool, if you like Idle games, dungeon crawlers and incremental progress that you manage and then watch play out.... or just wait to complete, this is really unique and special.
The audio, the graphics, subtle touches like weather effects, building, crafting and upgrading this has it all.
Every time i was like Oh i wish i could do X, it was a feature in the easily learned (over time) menus or an unlock i got later.
this really is something special.
If you are on the fence try the demo version "Prologue" if you read this im pretty sure you will not be disappointed.
\o/ to the devs!! - Please make more of this format i think you are really on to something here.

I honestly found this game to be far more addicting than I expected. Finding new gear and upgrading skills for your build is fun. I get sucked into the "just one more run through the dungeon" or "one more shot at this raid boss" quite a bit. Would love for this game to keep getting support so that maybe there could even be a second game. The game has good bones and it would be awesome if they took the core of this and fleshed it out even more.
