When I saw this being played on Twitch, I immediately was reminded of a game I used to play on my TI-83 in my highschool years called "Blockdude". I'm a huge fan of DOS, Amiga, Apple II, Atari ST, etc. puzzle games, and this is a definite throwback to those. I discovered that Blockman actually predates the game I played, so I checked the shareware version out on a Dosbox page, and I definitely see the 'inspiration'! Kudos on getting permission from Blockman's dev to do this game! Anyways, I've played through most of the levels and absolutely love this game, The first 10 levels are fairly easy but the difficulty ramps up nicely. I was worried after the first couple levels that this was going to be an easy game, but the later levels put those worries to rest. A few suggestions/feedback: - Add more music. The menu and gameplay songs are great, but would like a few more gameplay songs - The manual is well-written, but many people might not even notice the link for the manual, so an in-game tutorial might be helpful - Level sharing through ModDB / IndieDB works well, but Steam Workshop integration would be even better Overall, love this game and highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys retro games and very thinky puzzle games. Warning, it is very difficult, especially the later half of the main levels and all of the bonus levels, but it is a welcome challenge.

I grew up with these sorts of games, so I may be a tad biased. I'm jaded by the hand-holding that many games these days do, and this one does not do that. It's much more difficult than I expected, which is a plus for me. The first row of levels does a good job of introducing the gameplay mechanics without having to resort to outright telling you what to do. The difficulty ramps up pretty quickly after that. I almost walked away when I saw that the game had hints added, but luckily they are not as hand-holdy as I thought they would be. Essentially, they provide end-states for the boxes, similar to how a sokoban game plays. Even when turned on, the more difficult puzzles are still challenging, but I am leaving it off unless I get absolutely stuck. The level editor is nice, and I'm looking forward to come up with some ideas to upload, but the sheer number of custom level slots is overkill. It's nice to have plenty of slots, but I can't imagine any individual person making that many levels in the editor, and keeping track of that many would not be trivial. Also, while this game plays great with a controller, the level editor lends itself better to a mouse. Honestly, I'm surprised but appreciative that you implemented gamepad controls in the editor at all, though I think I will stick to mouse for level making. I think the bonus levels are my favorite part of the game. They are brutally difficult for the most part, which I assume is why they are separate from the main levels (granted the later main levels are pretty hard). The only bonus level I don't like so far is 10, that one is a bit tedious, to be frank. Otherwise, I love the bonus levels and wish there were more. Hopefully the dev is listening and will add more bonus levels in an update, or even a DLC level pack. In the meantime, I'll keep an eye on the community shared levels and try to make some of my own. Overall, this game is fantastic for oldschool puzzle gamers like me who enjoy thinky games. I remember playing something similar on my TI-84 in my college days, and this plays a lot smoother than that while not looking like a mobile game. I look forward to seeing what else this dev comes up with in the future.

The little bot is adorable. I personally found the game challenging but not in a "i'm quitting and never playing again" kind of way. I'm currently on level 7 and having to re-think how to go about moving the boxes. All around, it's a pretty good game.

This game really makes you think. It is a great mind puzzle and fun for all ages. My whole family really enjoys figuring out where to place the boxes next. My son whom is autistic, really got a kick out of this game and it was a great sensory tool used for problem solving. Highly recommend giving this game a try if you haven't yet, you won't regret it!

Just got through the first 20 levels in this game plus the first bonus level, messed around with the editor a bit, and I have to say I'm liking it so far. When I saw the screenshots, my thoughts were "this looks like a $5 game", but picked it up anyways after watching a few streamers play it. I'm a little dense when it comes to these sort of games (though I still love many older puzzle games like lemmings and baldies), so the hint feature came in super helpful. I did try to use it sparingly, just popping it up briefly to make sure I'm thinking in the right direction. Unlimited undos is a godsend, not sure the rewind feature is too useful when I can just undo. Level editor is fun to mess around in, but it's hard to come up with a puzzle that's actually fun to play, but I enjoyed downloading and trying out some levels people made and uploaded to indiedb. Was a little frustrated at first when I couldn't turn around without moving, but realize after a few puzzles that it seems to factor into the puzzle designs and being able to turn around at-will without moving would break some of the puzzles. I would recommend this to hardcore puzzle loves and people who like oldschool difficulty. For casual puzzle solvers, you might get frustrated on the later puzzles but the hint system helps. If you're not sure, I recommend trying the demo since it seemed to have a mix of easy and hard levels.

Pros: - Nostalgic. Has retro graphics and plays almost identically to Blockdude which I played on my calculator about 15 years ago - Has two new additions that Blockdude didn't have: elevators and keys. These make levels more interesting. - You can undo your moves, and place one "save point" in each level. - Relatively high replayability: each level has a "par" and a "dev" score, that give you a number of moves that you have to beat the level in, in order to get a little icon on the level select screen and unlock some achievements. The "dev" score is often the fewest number of moves possible, or close to it, and the "par" score is a bit higher than that. Beating the "par" score on some levels is really challenging, and I have no idea how to beat the "dev" score on most levels. - Some levels have an extra object you can collect that unlocks a bonus level. - The levels are challenging without being too challenging, and there are a lot of them (66 total, much more than Blockdude). The first few levels are really easy, but they quickly get more challenging, and trying to beat the "par" and "dev" scores is fun. - There is a level editor with the ability to share levels with others. I haven't messed with the level editor at all yet. Cons: - The only negative I can think of is that it's the same background music and graphics for every level. Some variety would have been nice, but it's not that big of a deal for me. Overall, this is a simple but challenging puzzle game. Recommended if you like puzzle games.
