Finally got a G29 wheel - its good without it, very beautiful, but with it the game becomes really fun. Convoy is great! Hardly any bugs. DLCs are always pretty, and they've updated old states too. Well worth the buy, but some DLCs are purely cosmetic/unnecessary so only buy if you are a big fan of those products/skins/etc.

Bought this during a minor sale because I watched Pezzy and his friend group play it drunk and it seemed pretty interesting. Although I don't have a full blown steering wheel rig and just use my keyboard and mouse, I find this game to be pretty entertaining. I always liked driving around in GTA, and this game also fullfills that virtual driving want, but here you have destinations to go to. I also just learned of the online convoy mode and although I don't usually join other people's convoys, just being in a public lobby and listening to the interactions is pretty fun. It really sucks that you have to spend so much money for all the DLCs and I don't really intend to get much more than the base game unless there are significant sales, just the base game (3 states in the west) will still give you significant drive times that will keep you plenty busy.

This is a good game if you like trucks and driving them but its a bit grindy and occasionally buggy. Needs more content and some of it shouldn't be locked behind a DLC paywall.

Very relaxing and beautiful experience. Pay attention to the world around while playing. Also makes a pretty decent driving simulator since the behavior of the other vehicles on the road is unpredictable. Kind of glitchy at times.

Great gameplay! Controls are easy to learn and modify. The scenery is done very nicely. The attention to detail is amazing.

It's the kind of game where you either get it or you don't. If you like the idea of trucking around (most) of the US, then then this game is for you. If you don't, then why are you even looking at reviews for this game? Game has an excellent, developer supported, mod community, so if there's something you don't like or something you think is missing, chances are, there's a mod either on the workshop or on the forums that will fix your concern. The DLC's for what you get are reasonably priced. Some of the smaller states are a tad pricey, but there's sales all the time so you can just pick up a bundle at a reduced cost. Anyway, I've rambled on enough. If you like it, buy it. The 20 dollar (or less) barrier to entry is ridiculously cheap considering how many hours of enjoyment you'll likely get out of this game.

Great game, nice time behind the truck under the radio. All truck lovers must buy!!!

This is a nice relaxing simulator, best played with a wheel, pedals with clutch and gear shift. I would also recommend a head tracker (although you don't require one), which makes it easier to change lanes and turn corners, The simulator has nice scenery with a real world feel. The American Trucker sim, unfortunately, has no cab overs, only conventional cabs, but there is enough variety and accessories to kit out your trucks. I also recommend purchasing this sim in a package, which gives you a few more states to roam around. Very enjoyable.
