Another fairly short vn that caught my eye because it's cheap and has a distinct visual style. The story was engaging and well written enough to keep me engage for my hour and a half. Overall, def suggest checking it out. I did run into a few freezes/crashes, but that may have been due to Windows 11 and AMD's on going issues on my PC and not directly this game's fault since... it's fairly low requirements. And so long as I was diligent to make saves as often as I could, I didn't lose too much time re-reading up to the point I was before the crash.

For $2.50 this game is well worth the price + more. It has a lot of aspects which appeal to me personally as someone who is hitting that age in life where all my responsibilities seem to take front and centre stage of my life. This game mixes great visuals with a surprisingly really well suited soundtrack which portrays an eerie and uncomfortable vibe. The Gameplay is really straightforward without heaps of choices, it would've been nice to be able to have a few more dialogue options with different conclusions but the game seems to be pretty linear. I get this feeling that the creator was trying to tell a story that stems from personal experience, otherwise, I think they would've added crazier and more unrealistic circumstances. The story is very engaging as it tackles a lot of the tough psychological elements of how it feels to grow up, especially the despair and cynicism that people develop over time mixed with the pure and naivety which never leaves. It's a very realistic story that I think would resonate to anyone in their mid-late twenties through to their late 30s. The sound was really good at creating an atmosphere that suited the story and it really helped the story progress and have that air of unease constantly circulating and getting me a little nervous for whats to come. The visuals could've been a little better with some inconsistent bits and pieces scattered throughout but overall I was really happy with the grungy background aesthetics which gave the game a really rustic and almost 90s-esque feel to it. The characters were also pretty well designed, especially during the flashback scenes where the kids are cute as hell. Overall the game is an 8/10. The fact that it's only $2.50 is just icing on the cake and being just half the price of a cup of coffee for a solid 1 hour story I would recommend everyone just give it a try. It may not have changed my life but it really hit me emotionally with how relatable the emotions were in this story.

Overall, I liked the game enough. Portraits were a bit weird in terms of some I think were hand drawn and others were 3D with a filter over them. Some had angry expressions when the dialogue didn't even seem that angry. Dialogue felt a generic a lot of times and I'm not a fan of narrations telling how the main character feels. However, I actually liked the plot. That part was unique for me. Not much else to say other than if you have time to spare play it.

Well, apparently this game has no reviews so I'll do the honors. It's good enough for a visual novel, the story line seems direct enough, despite being short. ...Though the inconsistency of character portraits in the dialogue boxes and the backgrounds is rather weird. 7/10

Not bad for a $2 visual novel, you can certainly do a lot worse, I think it has good visual presentation, good use of ambient and depressing music, as well as touch of subtle movement in the backgrounds, and even though it didn't have much animation, I find that anything helps with the game like this, such as those butterflies, just to set the mood and show something that can work in parallel with the narrative. A lot of the time with visual novels if you can get the mood going, it can amplify the interest in the story, even if the graphics don't have that much variety. The story was just okay, I didn't like or hate it, maybe I am just too spoiled because these days similar games tend to be hyper complex, where this game pretty much has 1 plot point and only 3 relevant characters, and not the most interesting settings for it, in my opinion, I felt like the game would have benefited if there were more twists and turns to the story, more drama or urgency. I didn't feel like the writing was particularly great, but I liked it enough to read some of it, I actually liked the interaction she had with the man in the apartment, as well as the one where he showed her the notebook. The game overall didn't give me that much to think about, the character does something bad in the past, and she feels guilt for it, and at the end you can choose the resolution between 3 endings (didn't seem like the choices up to that point had much use). I like that you trying to add a little bit of movement, both in the background, and the way you position the panels, it may seem like a small thing, but a lot of the time in visual novels that makes a big difference for me, between falling asleep and paying attention to what is happening. The simple sketches seem to represent the conflict that she is having, or her metal issues i suppose. Many devs just spam completely static games, so I hope you keep that going, even simple things that show the emotional state of the character, it adds a lot to the experience. about 35 minutes or so
Pros:
(+) Aside from a little nitpick I have with icon variety, I thought the game was visually presented very well, and I don't really mean like the quality of art, just the way you play around with panels, background movement, and small background animations. (+) I don't know if music was original, but I thought you picked good songs for the game. The game had a consistently grim mood to it which I liked. (+) There are a couple of endings, as well as some choices, but it didn't seem like the game really had any actual forks, mostly cosmetic or for achievements.
Feedback:
- I felt like the game needed more panels for her emotes, you overused the same images of her raging a bit too often, even at times when dialogue was not supporting it - try to have an image of the character at the endings, her having a moment of sincerity perhaps, otherwise I feel like you not rewarding the player on completing her arc - the story was okay, but I felt it was just a little too uneventful, I actually liked a little drama you had at the start, but then the game kinda works with 1 plot point and that is it. Which is okay for $2, but if you make a bigger game you need a little more Overall Thoughts: 7/10 Taking the price into consideration, it's a decent attempt at a small scope game, I like that you trying to add a bit of movement in the backgrounds, keep doing that, I think even small animations work very well if they complement the mood, like those sanity sketches. I think you picked good music for the story, the graphics overall were decent as well. The only thing is the story, it was a little too plain for me personally, not bad, but there are so many games that will have a lot more to offer intellectually, so try to go a little deeper, more friction between the characters, more melodrama.
