36 Nights is an interesting take on a classic genre. Having the ability to control a character in a TD game gives a more active role than typical games of this sort. The random upgrades give a bit of luck and strategy to the game that increases replay value. I look forward to more games from this dev! ( . Y . )

it's a really well made game! you get what you pay for, which is a fun ~5 hour experience. it provided a good amount of challenge as well, even to somebody who enjoys tower defense games (and there are difficulty options!).

Only played one game, but it seems pretty fun. The graphics are really basic, guess you got that from the ad. Reminds me of my old Commodore 64 days, but in a good way. The map I played on was lengthy, with three build options can can only go onto the pre-labeled positions. Guns go on dirt, barricades go on roads, and you can buy a generator if you want to earn a little bit more cash per night. I have seen three kinds of guns, pistols, which are fixed and only fire in one of the four cardinal directions, machine guns which aim at the closest mob, and a grenade launcher, with an AOE attack. They can be upgraded three times it seems. There is also a character that is you, that runs around the map shooting. Don't touch a mob however, or you lose some hit points! You have the option to control your firing, or autofire, neither seemed a bad thing, so pick your preference. Every few rounds you get to chose one of the upgrades, they vary and seem fairly interesting. They seem to mostly impact your personal character and his weapon, but I also saw some extra cash, and some extra hit points. There seems to be some variety in the mobs, I saw skeletons (which seem to get a speed burst now and again) green Grimaces looking things, and robots. There are also ghosts which are flying units, which ignore the path all together, so you have to keep your eyes open. Put it all together, and it was a fun, simple game, and easy thumb up from me.

36 Nights is a "decent" tower defense game I purchased during the Steam Summer sale. Some maps are better than others, as well as the music. The first two maps, the music was unappealing, although as you progress, the music loop improves. You place 3 types of towers on designated spots which can be upgraded through money you receive at the end of the round. I have gameplay video with discussion of pros and cons of 36 Nights in my Steam curator group review. https://steamcommunity.com/groups/towerdefensegamesrated

A good game with some slight complaints. The cons: 1. It's a bit short. For five dollars, it's probably not a bad run-time. And technically, you can still go to endless mode and see how high of a wave you can conquer, but...it's a bit short. I'll lump in content with this as well; I've 100%'d the game in the amount of time it took to beat the game. Which is not always bad, but I wish I actually had to do something to actually 100% more than 5-6 grind-outs and an equal amount of pushing for the final level, which didn't even have a real boss. 2. Procedural generated RNG heaven. It's not that bad here, but it is here. One map can be absolute prime turkey sandwiches for straight-shot turrets, others heavily dependent on the machine turrets for most of the map. It favors a particular setup, which is a barrack with some sort of explosive payload constantly dumping on it (your character, or a grenade turret), and clean-up turrets for everything that gets through. Yes, I get that it makes the game "unique on every run," but still. It's a bit annoying, when sometimes what you really need just...never shows up in the spinner. The pros: 1. It has good music. Boppin' time. 2. Its fundamental gameplay loop is surprisingly good. You have to strike a balance between your income, your character's power, and tower placement/upgrades. It's a pretty good gameplay loop. 3. It's a nice pixelated game. I like the aesthetic, all the better if the game is actually fun to play. I'd recommend this game, if you have the spare cash. It's a decent seven hours.

Great little indie game - I was worried it'd run out of steam quickly but despite the small variety of turrets available the gameplay remains rather engaging thanks to the bullet hell elements. On top of that it is surprisingly well-rounded and balanced in terms of player/turret/enemy/stage strength. Would love to see this expanded

TL;DR Nya~! Discovered the dev's previous games, but 36 Nights with zombies truly grabbed my neko curiosity. Simple UI, gradual pace, and placing turrets is a furry challenge. Minimalistic art is mega creative, auto-fire's cool but slightly slow. Despite my quick-refunding tendencies, 36 Nights is a must-keep! Eagerly awaiting the next meow-sterpiece from the Dev. Nyaa~! 🐾💖 I Go Through Games so You Don't have to: https://steamcommunity.com/groups/Curlyxxx Day 5: Whisker-warning, darlings! The Final Map - Graveyard is my little secret, nya~! 🌟 I won't spill the catnip, but oh my meow, the track is simply enchanting! If you manage to prance your way there, get ready for something extra special, nya~! 💖🐾 This map has me purring with excitement, and the surprises will have you feline fabulous! 😻✨ Day 4: Pawsitively thrilled with the desert map, nya~! 💖 The track is like catnip for my ears, and even a zombie with whiskers would dance to that drop, nya~! 🐾 The undead are moving at full-speed, making the gameplay as sleek as my fur, nya~! The design is smoother than a well-groomed tail, and the sound design? Simply purrfection! 🎶💕 This map gets my neko seal of approval, and I'm all whiskers for it, nya~! 😺✨ Day 3: Meow-meow! Nya-tastic adventure awaits in this paw-some game! Achieved a neko-riffic 67% completion of the achievements within just a whisker of a few hours. The replay potential is as vast as a bowl of catnip! After much contemplation with my feline self, especially on the Difficulty scaling, even with the game cranked up to its toughest setting, I'm breezing through waves without much ado. Maybe one little mousey slips through, but that's the extent of it! Absolutely purr-satisfied with this delightful playtime so far <3 Day 2: Meowsterfully conquered a multitude of maps in 36 Nights! Paws down, it's a purrfect game! Each element boasts a unique animation, radiating with the affectionate touch of its creators. My only kitty-critique meow-ments on the relatively easy difficulty scaling; the initial hordes seem a tad drawn out. Placing turrets strategically and enhancing characters with upgrades results in breezy runs—hardly a whisker lost, typically under 60 hp. The cards even offer a chance to heal, making it a paw-sitive experience. Random abilities, while enjoyable, can be a tad too OP or repetitive (like shooting a circle of projectiles when zombies follow a straight path). Some skills feel like they're cat-nipped to tempt you, but even with a few mistakes, choosing wisely won't claw your run to shreds. After a whisker or two on a map, I've been on the prowl for more info on how to get in touch with the dev! I'm utterly smitten with this game, and I believe it could cast its spell on many others too. As a fervent neko gamer, I'm eagerly anticipating any mew-sic to my ears about upcoming content! 🐾💕 TLDR: Conquered several maps in 36 Nights! It's a purrfect game with unique animations and thoughtful design. Critique: difficulty scales easy, initial hordes a bit long. Turret placement and upgrades make runs smooth, minimal health loss. Random abilities can be overpowered or redundant. Some skills feel tempting but won't ruin your run. Seeking info on contacting devs for more content/updates. A devoted neko gamer eagerly awaits news about future updates! 🐾💕 Day 1: Nyaa~! So, I stumbled upon the creator's previous games, nya, but they didn't quite capture my neko curiosity! But guess what, this one's got zombies, meow! It totally piqued my interest, and with its simple design, it whiskered me away on my first playthrough. The pace changed so swiftly that I ended up losing around $7 in just one night, oopsie! The game UI is like, super simple, nya. Just click on stuff and read the descriptions at the bottom, easy peasy. I love how it gradually ramps up, and placing a turret in the wrong spot can be a swift and furry disaster! For a game with such a minimalistic art style, 36 Nights is like, mega creative and appealing, nya~! The auto-fire button is paw-some, although I noticed it shoots a bit slower than just clicking the left mouse button in some cases. Gotta keep an eye on this dev, their next game sounds purr-ticularly intriguing! 36 Nights is a definite must-pick for the short time I've spent with it. Usually, I'm quick to claw back my money if a game doesn't click with me, but this one's a keeper! Keep up the pawsitively good work, Dev! Nyaa~! TL;DR: Nya~! Found the dev's previous games meh, but 36 Nights with zombies caught my attention. Simple design, gradually-paced, tip don't lose $7 a night—oops! Easy UI, creative minimalistic art, auto-fire's cool but a bit slow in some cases but could just be me. Keeping an eye on this dev for their next game. 36 Nights is a must-keep, even for a quick-refunder like me. Good job, Dev! Nyaa~!

Tower defense with Enter the Gungeon vibes. I'm slightly obsessed with this game and hope it is expanded or inspires other developers. Since 2011, I've been looking for tower defense games that engage you in active role with urgency and danger like Sanctum. So many tower defense games feel like older phone games that someone might use to pass the time - like watching a rube goldberg machine run in slow motion. 36 Nights successfully gets away from that and makes something surprising rather than just addictive. The Graveyard level of 36 Nights feels like a bullet hell game in the vein of Enter to Gungeon, with the twist of having tower defense elements. I find this very exciting, I just wish there was more of this to explore as a player, whether its evolving maps (additional routes added to the left of the house mid-level) or shorter sequential levels that present different problems to solve. I could see a level editor being incredibly fun to use. My only complaint is the flicker that is especially present in the enemy bullets in the Graveyard level. I understand that other colors (red) are already in use and visibility is an issue due to the massive number of moving shapes on screen, but I think a solid red color floating above all over layers would have looked great.
