*SPOILERS*
Mojika is one of those games where u have to take your sweet time with and crank the volume up to let the soundtrack set the stage to get the full experience. The writing of the game may come off bland compared to other vns that have paragraph-long dialogue to confuse you, Mojika is more straightforward and blunt with short sentences, and doesn't try to throw you in a loophole to force you to think it out because the answers are thrown right in front of the player. It's also not philosophical or physiological horror-esque compared to popular denpa vns, Mojika is more dystopian due to the conditions already presented at the beginning of the game and the how the school is ran by hierarchy, the ones on the top call the shots, the ones in the middle follow, and the ones at the bottom get bullied, and protagonist is that pillar at the bottom that suffers the ridicule. so although it seems like the writing or the dialogue are lacking, its not, the amazing soundtrack really sets the depressing and gloomy mood, delivering the plot better than any words can.
It's a nitro+ game so it's gotta have some SA and a ton of rape scenes as part of the plot for it to be a dark and explicit game. it was very refreshing to see those rape scenes actually add some weight to the story and not just thrown in there to please the player *cough* euphoria *cough*, plus they were very emotional driven aswell not just done out of spite but a very vengeful spite with atleast some reason behind it even if it was a bad reason. It was also nice to see how it wasn't just the protagonist that was going through it but also the heroins with their own ugliness and vices. Just in general the game is more that just a solid game, the presentation will literally blow your mind, same with the looking-up mechanism its just extremely unique compared to the bunch. The h-scenes are positively over-whelming with all the heroins thoughts coming at your and the soundtrack's guitar shredding in the bg, it's was honestly scary how realistic the heroins thought proscess was depicted aswell.
One thing i will admit that confused me was def naruko's route after you figure out she has word-sight as well, like that whole sequence went from 'i hate you' to 'i love you lets have a baby', like from 0 to 100, maybe it was rushed on purpose idk
but either way one thing i can guarantee you is that there is no other game out there like Mojika, it's both hideous and beautiful, you can't categorize it with other vns. its def more of an experience than a game, so if you gave up on it for wtv reason ur missing out, finish it and maybe you'll feel more accomplished afterwords. It's dark, melancholic, ugly, and very beautiful so give it a try.

Hello— I will give a review on "Mojika" now that I have finished it in its entirety.
Despite me not recommending the game, I'd like to begin with compliments, as it'd be dishonest to just bash the game.
The artist, Shigeo Hamashima, did an excellent job as always. The CGs are charming (when they are, that is) and it requires incredible skill to portray characters under certain angles.
The first half of the game was certainly interesting. I appreciated its premise, and it truly felt like it had potential to be something utterly vile and philosophically interesting. Certain routes had their jaw dropping plot twists, and you couldn't help but feel bad after ending them— and it should have just ended at that. A punishing, merciless title, cruel and despicable, just as our MC.
Now, onto the bad points.
MC is not just disgusting— he is cringe and corny. I felt second-hand embarrassment too many times reading his thoughts and dialogues. I'm sure that the bad writing doesn't help, as it is quite repetitive and whoever wrote it all clearly gave off "I'm lazy, so I will repeat the same words over and over and bore my readers to death instead of portraying human emotions through insightful writing."
MC is indecisive and doesn't follow his own inner thoughts— read the uncensored ver. for yourself, as I would be spoiling the plot otherwise.
Also. The omnipresence of adult scenes, and how rapidly they succeed each other. Yes, yes, I am aware that the title is an eroge. But it all becomes so boring after a while. I am certain that few moments could've been better portrayed with non-18+ CGs. It really overshadows the whole plot of the title. But some scenes were absolutely hilarious, whether intentional or not.
And here's the part that I despise the most— whats considered as the "true ending". First off, I don't think this title needed a "true ending" at all. It sincerely felt as if all previous routes were "true endings" by themselves, just different héroïnes. It felt as if all my previous routes were useless, that they didn't mattered so much anyways, because there is a
canon love interest.
And why are they
even getting out of it all unscathed? How come they are not punished? You're telling me that the MC and Naruko who is arguably worse can live freely, and happy ever after?
The game would've been amazing if it gave us a
false sense of hope, just like all the other routes.
and so it ruined it all for me.
Overall, I'd give it a 6/10, because some routes were worth the read.
