Solid first game from this studio. I love the retro feel, and the sound design (especially the soundtrack) is pretty good. The dynamic lighting caught me by surprise, very snazzy. I adore the main menu desktop PC. My biggest criticism is probably the map, it's very hard to tell which objects have collision and which don't. It's easy to accidentally back yourself into a corner. And the enemies can despawn/respawn to duck under obstacles, which leads to surprise damage (see the top review for elaboration)

This game is very addicting! There is a steep learning curve especially if you are not the most proficient with keyboard controls. However, after some time figuring them out, it is really a cool concept that definitely brings in some nostalgia from my childhood. Would highly recommend for anyone to give this game a try!

Warning to all, this game is addictive... for good reason, in being absolutely worth all the time to play. I use it as a "reward break" in-between work projects. I love how easy it is to set down and pick back up at any moment! It's more rewarding and more fun than other games of it's type.

This game is awesome, in the last 10 years I have played tons of games, both on Steam, and not- and this one takes the cake for my new all-time favorite. It is innovative but yet classic with a mix of arcade, + top-down adventure, with an awesome soundtrack by DOS-88 as the cherry on top. There are still a few misc bugs and oddities that I've bumped into, but this is a game I could play for hours if I wasn't careful. It's not a super easy game either, which I love. I randomly saw this game while searching in recent releases, and knew I had to try it. You should give it a go if you're reading this, you most certainly will enjoy the game ;)

This game kind of tears me in terms of if its a good game or not. The ideas are definitely there and there is some great potential for this, but right now, it seems a bit underwhelming. Game play loop: You start as a tank with no weapon and proceed to a "gear box" (if I'm not mistaken on the name) to purchase weapons. There was no real explanation, so it took me a while to realize that I am not "upgrading" anything despite it saying "level _, upgrade, [insert cost here]". As you play, enemies spawn which drop money when killed. Pick up the money and buy weapons to get higher tiers of weapons which deal more damage. Each time you purchase a weapon, the cost goes up by $50. As you kill enemies, progress around the map and take on the 10 different bosses. As you play, you gain upgrades (it's time based so there is no purchasing or choosing for upgrades). That mainly covers the game play. Pros: -Time based upgrades can make it easier to progress. -Fun like any other top down, bullet hell game. -Some unique bosses. -Meta progression to help you if you were getting stuck. Cons: -Enemies feel as though they don't scale until you beat the 10th boss. -Game modes other than the main one are VERY lackluster. (I think adding more bosses or making them progressively more difficult would be better) -Life span of game is WAY too short. (I beat all the bosses on my first run without any meta progression, so I got all the achievements in around 30-45 minutes before playing 3-4 more rounds of the normal mode to max the meta progression upgrades. Some time was spent looking into the other modes as well, but they aren't really all that great.) -Sell price of weapons. This one is entirely my own opinion but I feel like higher tier weapons should sell for more. It is currently set up so that upon selling ANY weapon, you get somewhere between $50 and 0.5x the cost of the next purchase from the gear box. This makes it more about quantity than quality. This is fine, but it seems weird considering you can combine three of the same items of one tier to get one of the next tier. Overall: I think this is a fairly good game, but there is definitely more to be done before I would consider it to be really good/great. It has a lot of potential, but there are a few downsides that really bring it down. Despite the size of the "cons" section being larger than the "pros", I think the pros outweigh the cons be a decent amount. I would definitely recommend this game if you have some money to spend on a few hours of fun (perhaps more if the developer continues to improve and expand the game).

It's got some good qualities and I'd recommend on a discount for a silly little game, but it does need a LOT of improvements before the dev can make a full price game. Enemies ducking under obstacles is not too bad if you can avoid them, but the maps available are a mess, and the obstacles often only become clear when you're right near them. The zoomout function is nice to get early on when it feels too closed in, but the same map issues become worse when it zooms out too far. Weapons don't give good info on individual stats of them. Settings/Options are minimal and really needed a volume adjust and an easier way to access it. The zoom in on the intro screen was a good touch but it's slightly irksome to have the quit button shifting as your mouse moves towards it. The weapon fire gets progressively louder as you get stronger stuff to the point I had to alt tab out and lower my volume once I got far enough in, several times. On the upside: The bosses do feel like they have some variety. The weapons feel nice to fire. The theming and graphics have a nice touch. Hope the dev looks at this and makes something great for the next game.

I would not even recommend this for free. 1) I have repeatedly had an issue where I simply cannot install the first gun. 2) You then have to restart, which replays a pointless opening animation that you can't seem to skip. 3) I get high-health enemies that outpace me, so I can't avoid taking damage. 4) The game makes very little sense. There's a lack of explanation of what to do. 5) The graphics and colours (including inverting colour flashes) are so bad it could potentially give you a migraine. I honestly wondered if the game is broken, it looks so bad. However, if you watch the Level 5 boss video, you'll see the red filter on hit - this is just egregious and unpleasant, especially when it pops up frequently because you're being chased by a high-health enemy which is faster than you (see 3). Only 56% of players have beaten the first boss. This then falls to 40% for the second boss. This indicates that people aren't even playing this game for 15 minutes or that, if they do, they don't progress far due to the issues above. Also, if you want controller support, that's not listed on the store page, so be aware of that. I do not understand any of the positive reviews for this game at all. This is one of the ugliest and least interesting games I have ever played.

Tons of fun. Not going to lie the game is challenging but game play feels rewarding . especially after you beat a new boss or get to try a new weapon. Lot of fun upgrading your weapons and trying to figure out the new bosses you encounter. Looking forward to playing it more.

The whole warning about being able to terminate your access to the game for seemingly no reason just rubs me the wrong way edit: dev responded nicely
