There have been some improvements since launch but even now the game is just really buggy. Even some of the developer made shops and rides don't work properly and you have to try and fix them. I can't get my modular shops to connect to any path, and the theming is severely lacking. The DLC's also seem over priced for what is included. I understand having new rides but having just five rides and no decorative items isn't something the interests me. The game is alright but very frustrating when guests can't reach stalls no matter how much pathing i do and re do or move around the stall.

I love playing the game and have spent many hours building my dream park. It’s so much fun to create rides that thrill the guests! I’ve worked hard to get the physics just right, and my rides have high excitement with a good fear rating and low nausea. Even with all this effort, some guests still won’t get on the rides I built. I wonder why that happens. If anyone knows, I would really appreciate some tips. Despite this little problem, I still really enjoy creating my park for everyone to enjoy. I love seeing the guests have fun, even if it takes a long time to build everything perfectly. It can be frustrating when things don’t work as I hoped, but watching the park grow and seeing guests happy makes it all worthwhile. Overall, this game is a great way to relax and use my imagination!

Planet Coaster 2 brings all the great stuff from the first game and further improves on it in every possible way. Special mentions being the new pathing tools which are amazing and allow the player to create any park layout you can imagine, the new ray traced lighting which allows for properly dark indoor ride sections and darkrides and much improved graphics and the new DLSS support and much improved performance in bigger parks compared to PC1. The only thing this game is still missing from the first game is some of it's scenery content and rides (including those of the DLC's). If all that is ported over the Planet Coaster 2 eventually, the new weather and season system will be perfected further, if short 3D grass is added to grass surfaces and a fence tool is added this game really is the best and prettiest looking theme park game ever made.

Less content then the original Planet coaster. Items that should have snap quality's to them like pipes and fences do not have snap together. Adding paths and or Transforming the terrain will at times create holes in the world that lag the game and do not go away. Also speaking of paths, Sometimes the staff will just not recognize a working path at all, and other times things just wont connect properly to paths even though they are connected This happens mostly with Power and water stations. Some items that were in the original are not present, and others that reasonably should be there and fit the theme's given in the game- Don't exist? For example, there is a wild west theme set. But you cannot make a park in an environment that looks like the wild west. There are no default shells for themed shops or facilitates. There are also themes like "Mythology" that although clearly inspired by Greek mythology, Lack any real items or rides that work with making a park using that theme. Also: The shark animatronic was removed entirely, as were many other animatronics. Building Pools sucks. Building a lazy river does not work period. NPC's, especially children, will get stuck in the edges of the pool and will at times fall through the world and appear as "Park cannot find the exit" while walking along the void at the bottom of the map under the ground. Also lifeguards just sometimes vanish off the face of the earth, watched it happen in real time once. just "POOF" and they no longer exist. NPC's will also just sometimes walk off the path next to pools and get lost in the wilderness at the edges of the map. Speaking of the map- Its not a square. Its some weird 'kind of a square but the middle bits are pushed in' shape. This makes doing anything with precision at the park entrance or along the edge of the map, needlessly hard. It also means that if you somehow edit the terrain at the edges you will sometimes edit things that are technicality outside of your map, and you cannot undo those. ALSO some items such as rocks and trees at the edges of the map, That are clearly within your map, cannot be removed at all. Staff management is so Tedious and broken that it may as well not exist, requiring you to manually change the zones, hours, and pay for every individual staff member, one at a time. The menu is also, broken, sometimes wont show what you are changing, and at times will just make a staff member brain dead, so they just stand in the same spot forever and never move again. For larger parks this becomes a nightmare. Challenge parks are have some story nonsense happening, And are for the most part, unclear as to what challenge each park is supposed to have. To a point where i looked up what the challenge of the 'Garden of Edith' challenge even was- And its so poorly communicated that most people online seem to think the challenge is bugged. (the challenge is that you have limited money- even though the park is in a rich lady's unused garden and is being funded by said rich lady. Which is so Thematically conflicting that it hurts.) There is also a level where you turn an old farm into a theme park, and that would work great if there was a farming or county fair theme. (There is not) And worst of all: No steam workshop support. There is instead a poorly utilized (and frankly annoying to navigate or search) In-house workshop. It seemingly has no real community and most of the top rated items are from when the game first launched. Overall a massive disappointment. I hope it gets better with much needed quality of life updates and the addition of more content.

I waited months and months for this game to come out. I bought it on launch. I've never been so disappointed in a game . I see it in my library and it makes me beyond angry. The amount of base game rides is terrible. Its a money grabbing game and its getting as bad as the sims 4. I hate the water grid system , the power system. I hate the lack of decor , I hate how planet coaster 1 is 1000 times better. save your money, I sure wish I did.

Stayed with playing PC 1 after seeing many reviews on how the game felt it was not ready yet at launch. After a series of updates from the devs, the game is a ton of fun. It for sure improves on Planet Coaster 1 with pathing and game engine, however, I do miss steam workshop content. Frontier work shop is acceptable, though you have to make a frontier account to do so. The scenery is still a little sparse, but with continued updates, this game is in a decent state, i enjoy playing this in my free time. I'm glad they finally added pirate them, thats what I mostly missed.

Wow, okay! After 60 hours of gameplay, I feel like I finally have a solid grasp on this game, and I’m still working through the scenarios. I have more to do, AHH. I was hesitant to buy it at first because of the mixed reviews, but it's been on my radar for a while. I already own Planet Coaster 1 and Planet Zoo, which have a ton of extra rides and DLC. But oh my GOD—this game’s pathing tool is the best. It's hard to go back. You can create large path areas with the draw path tool, and it’s a complete overhaul compared to the older games. It even includes shape-based pathing—want a flower-shaped food court? A hexagon plaza? You can totally do that. I LOVE having huge customizable spaces for eateries, AND I made a tiny, working garden for my guests that is full of vending machines! * Gift Shops were just added. You can customize their size, assign specific items. A tiny pizza cart is possible!
Some aren't sure but...
FOR ME, another huge plus: the in-game Workshop access. Yes, it’s a bit laggy, but you can search for and download content right from the main menu. Don’t like the default shop buildings? Browse the Workshop and grab a new one in under a minute. It’s incredibly convenient. I’ve downloaded coasters, rides, decor—no need to build from scratch unless you want to. Which is great. I don't want to do that when I'm playing a scenario that'll be over in ten minutes. I'm also still playing Planet Zoo, and I really miss that feature over there. In Zoo, I’m stuck with boring shells or plain toilets for scenarios, and I don’t want to waste time decorating them. If Zoo had the same Workshop integration, it would be a game-changer for me, I'm struggling.
...Now, for the MEH:
* The pathing AI can be dumb sometimes—guests get stuck occasionally, but it seems like mostly user error. I just pick them up and move them. It rarely happens for me, * Staff management is by far the worst part. You have to assign staff zones one-by-one, and there’s no quick method. It’s tedious. This will eventually be fixed, they can't leave it this way-- surely. * Notifications can be annoying, but you can turn them off.
...Some good things!
* The move and delete tools are way better than in the previous games. * Time controls are more intuitive: 1, 2, 3 for speed, and spacebar to pause. In Planet Zoo, it's “O” and “P” which feels so clunky by comparison. * There are more options for staff paths and decorations. * Making flumes is fun. People can literally fly out of them if you design them poorly (which is hilarious and highly recommended). * The UI is cleaner and easier to navigate than in Planet Zoo or Planet Coaster 1. It just feels better. My kid could easily pick it up and play. It's so much easier than Planet Zoo. ----- Despite the staffing frustrations, I genuinely think the game is worth full price. I’ve already spent 60 hours on just the campaign and plan to put in a lot more. It’s fun, accessible, and full of potential. I can’t wait to see what rides and updates come next!

Honestly I really wanted to give this a good review because Roller Coaster Tycoon and any extension to that is just something that I need in my life. I'm happy there is still a company in this case Frontier still taking the Theme park simulation genre serious. But I guess this is also were the problem lies. There's no real competition. Frontier is just not hungry and on edge. They know there's no real need to do things right as their the only one making a game people fan of this genre will buy regardless. Ok we got Parkitect etc but Triple A studio releases, Planet Coaster is pretty much all we got. And here's the problem. The engine of the game is fine its got all the works, but it just lacks in content so much its almost a regression to the original Roller coaster tycoon. Where are all the rides? Where are all the calm rides and rides for kids? No carousel how? Where are all the different shops? Only about 5 types of food, common! I love the game, the engine is working right and didn't really encounter any problems that would be in the way of me having fun. But the content is just boring and its like the team behind the content just lost its mojo. Flat rides is about 90% scary rides but doesn't really offer much for a complete park. The water park is a nice addition, but again lacks content. There's basically just not enough to really build an unique complete waterpark either. A couple of flume types with a limited of about 10 pool type of scenery items and tha's it. I feel like this game it took them too long to develop the engine and just didn't have enough time to create content anymore and had to release early. DLC packs adding 3 more rides just won't cut it tbh .This game really needs to be doubled in everything to make it interesting. This is what I would expect for a sequel to a game. In all honesty I haven't counted everything but it feels like there's actually even less content than Planter Coaster 1. Really not sequel worthy,. The technical engine is def an upgrade over part 1 and would have been a good foundation for part 2. Yes we even finally got rain with umbrella's now! But the lack of content is really so bad I just can't recommend this game. I'm afraid they will just release DLC's adding a few rides here in there and that just won't be enough. If maybe they release an DLC doubling atleast everything from flat rides to shops etc. I could recommend. The only part that has enough content is the roller coasters itself, I think there's litterally more types of coasters than there's flat rides. Honestly I might even say there's just too many types. This might be cool for someone who's really into building roller coasters. But personally I'm all about running a theme park. I'm the type of player who just drops in a complete designed roller coaster and moves on. Sure I have custom build a few roller coasters myseelf, but I don't find it so much fun. Its more of a chore to build one that visitors actually enjoy with needing to run tests constantly to make sure its not too scary or nasseau. I enjoy just running a complete theme park designing the scenery and creating different sections in the park with fitting rides and shops etc. But at this part the game just falls short. Love building roller coasters? This game is probably the best option you can get and its amazing at it! Looking for a complete Theme park simulator? Probably even Parkitect offers way more in this regard and in its current state I just can't recommend Planet Coaster 2.
