Maybe its just not my type of game but I couldn't get into it. Very simple mechanics and just get from point A to point B trying to best your time. If you can get it for dirt cheap (couple bucks) then I'd say go for it but not more than that.

Mechanic Escape is a really fun game, for example if you are a bit bored you can just launch it up and play for quite a while, without noticing how fast the time pases while playing it.

Great game! It doesn't have any problems, it's fun platformer game and it runs very very well on my low end laptop. And the best part is that it is cheap. Because im in 3rd world countery i can't afford games that for 30 USD, But this for 5 usd which in my curruncy 80. I rate it 10/10. Thanks You Who Developed This Game :).

I give this game a rank D+ (50-55%) Forgettable game - sadly nothing really good here.. See my profile for more details about my reviews. Unfortunately my rating system makes a 51% a Thumbs Down, and while I feel a bit sorry for the devs for doing that, I don't think it should lower the current ''Very Positive'' rating at all. But I have to be honest for the type of player that I am and that some of you may be: there is nothing really good in this game for me. If you are a young player, or a casual player, or a maniac for all sorts of speedrun in little indie games, maybe? I mean it does not look too bad, the gameplay while floaty is not terrible, and the music while super repetitive is pleasant and boppy enough... but that's about it? The gameplay is extremely repetitive, the level design is absolutely not interesting, the story, lore and art have no real spark or soul, after playing for half an hour I was already super bored... this game just feels like a free or cheap game you would find on smartphone or tablet... and you would not mind watching an ad between each level... it is that kind of quality... It looks cute, but truthfully at my age and with my baggage, no point spending time here. So overall, not a BAD game per say, just not a good one. Admittedly it has been 10 years now, so probably time proved me right. Hem is live on Hem & Watch

I'm a bit torn on this one. It's a platformer, duh. It is moderately fast paced and has elements of Super Meatboy in it (namely that when you die, you gotta start the whole thing over again). I am currently through chapter one and the levels take about 30-60 secs if I get everything (20 levels per chapter it seems). There is not much room for speed runs I think, because there is a "lovely" feature in which you are very often hunted by an annoying robot thing that kills you on contact, catches up to you and even explodes periodically and is only lost when passing a gate. Your goal is to just complete the level, as a bonus there are small and big monitors in the levels. I don't know what the small ones give you, but the big ones unlock skins. I completed every level on perfect so far (albeit with some cursing and retrying) and almost got all the skins now, so after that point there is no sense in collecting them anymore (they make the levels harder of course) other than personal accomplishment. Sounds like an ok game, doesn't it, so why the negative review? For starters it gets pretty boring and repetitive. New elements are gradually introduced, but they're not very catchy or game changing. You don't seem to get any abilities, you don't fight, you just weave through the levels and those levels are pretty bland, not to mention the soundtrack which is the same for each level within a chapter... My second problem are the controls. The game feels clunky and unresponsive, sluggish even. Not the best formula when you have to run away from a big bad killer machine. It almost feels like you are floating, you can double jump and wall jump and often it works as you want, but too often it just feels off, hard to explain. For example when you swing on a chain you cannot jump off the chain if it is not at its apex somehow. Either that or the controls are not responding properly. Also holding down the jump button makes you jump continuously (I am the kind of person that wills a jump to go longer if you only hold down the jump button lol, so that cost me a few lives). I can't say too many bad things about this game though. If you desperately need some sort of platformer and it's on sale, go ahead. If not then there are A LOT of better alternatives. Generic levels, boring sound track, weird controls and a wonky hero with a hitbox the size of an elephant as well as meaningless collecting of stuff within the levels and a constant pressure by being hunted. That is "mechanic escape" in a nutshell for me. Mediocre in everything.

Awful, awful experience. Timing traps that you do not see, too close FOV, a lot of trial and error in the sense that NO ONE SAW THAT COMING and you're dead. That is wrong, plain wrong. Level design should be so that if you managed to master all the cues and reflexes that you'll avoid everything or manage in the way. Not in here. Also, a lot of late levels require you to FLOAT. That wouldn't be a problem, if the main character wasnt driving on ice skates. Man, this is ridiculous. Having NO fun at all, and I completed Super Meat Boy. This is a memorizing game only you memorize nothing useful. Go ahead and learn some math instead. Jesus...what a horrible experience of a game this one is, I just have no words. PS. I wrote the review on ~4-10 level. And then I encountered a level where: a) Total precision required but there are random rockets that I have no idea which pattern do they use to launch b) The same rockets that travel THROUGH THE WALL and meet me when I'm out OF THE CURCUIT!!! WAHT?????? Man, I wish I never bought this game. Grabbed it on sale during 2014-2015 for some change. Well, glad I'm not making the same mistakes again. To be fair, there is only one developer in the game, and I don't know if there was any QA/playtesting, Meh, anyway

This game reminds me literally of Super Meatboy instead though of being a character made of meat your a TV trying to collect other TV's. The game gets increasingly difficult but man is it fun. $5 is asking hardly anything for this great game. Buy it you won't be disappointed. The graphics and music are VERY good, Plus you wanna play on a controller? You got it!

I originally bought this years ago, played for a little bit, and then put it aside as being too difficult. Recently started looking through my old games on steam and started playing this again on a whim. I haven't completed it yet, but I'm definitely having more fun than I was before - maybe I just have more patience now? But it's fun to play in relatively short bursts. A pretty fun little platformer if you don't mind dying a lot while you learn each level
