-Quick Review-
Multiplayer Cavemen is a 3rd person survival crafting game… if it was a polished completed game, but it’s not. The game I played dropped me into a glorified tech demo with loud music, incomplete skill trees, and shoddily animated 3d models running around aimlessly and attacking me immediately.
I was hoping for an entertaining multiplayer game to play with my friend group, but what I experienced wasn’t even entertaining to play for a few minutes. Multiplayer Caveman was developed by Archor Wright and released in 2023.

-Detailed breakdown review-
Gameplay: I don’t want to turn my review into a hit-piece, however I want my reviews to provide an accurate critique and to also provide a service to anyone who’s genuinely curious about Multiplayer Cavemen. So, I’m going to list out the things I noticed were wrong with the game.
- After playing the tutorial and loading up the game properly I first noticed: Items keep spawning nonstop on the ground around me. If you just stand in the starting hut, you’ll see items drop into the world around you every few seconds.
- Maybe that would be neat and useful, however you already have access to every item in the game! Press the letter I… You might think “I for inventory?” No, I for "give me item for free"... It's basically console commands but with a graphic user interface! ...or creative mode always on… It would be nice if you could toggle it on or off… or if there was something you WANTED to build, but I could copy past 3d assets in blender with an easier user interface and better customization controls… …If you want to BUILD stuff play any number of other games: Minecraft, Gmod, Valheim, Terraria, the Forest, to list a few on the top of my mind. My point is you’re not going to play Multiplayer Cavemen to build stuff.
- Next when you drop into the world you are immediately attacked by everything that can see you. Is this a combat game now? I thought I’d punch tree’s and gather rocks or something like most survival crafting games start out with… but no, you’re instantly fighting monsters… and it’s nonstop! It’s like the spawn rate was turned up way to high or something… …good thing you have infinite weapons if you stand and wait around at the spawn in location.
- Okay… maybe this game is a beat-em-up, or more combat focused? Nope… Everything dies from "run backwards in a circle and swing weapon" strategy. It’s as simple as that. You can cheese the AI very easily, once again this doesn’t give me the impression that any real thought was given to the game… just that assets were slapped onto a map and CTRL + P (Print it).
- Even worse… the Skill Tree and Options Menus are grossly unpolished. For the skill tree’s there are MANY “N/A" skill icons, with the description placeholder text saying: "Here you can describe what the skill is about"!

- So now we come back to the question: “What is there to do in Multiplayer Cavemen”? The answer: Nothing... What's the point of building, gathering or hunting? You don’t build because you’re either being swarmed by NPC’s wanting a piece of you, or/and there’s no point in gathering or hunting because you can spawn everything into your inventory for free.
- Next I have a note about the animations being… Weird… I could actually forgive this one …maybe it’s trying to be like its goat simulator or something… But combined with everything else it just makes this more of an unplayable-unfun-unentertaining-mess. It’s just yet another nail in the coffin for why I didn’t enjoy the game… albeit one of the weaker concerns.
- Unlike this next one… can somebody tell me why the Games Title and Developer’s Name are ALWAYS in the upper left corner of the Game?!? Totally unnecessary, and the first video game I’ve ever played which has done this. It’s like having all footage and screenshots permanently watermarked! Which is fine I guess… but trust me, I don’t need a reminder while I’m playing what game I’m playing.
- Next I’d like to note: NPC interactions are unapologetically self-promotional for other games the developer has made. Speaking of which, the developer "Archor Wright", has over 90 games in their portfolio and after glancing at some of the other products I can tell at least a few other games have very similar problems to this one.

Conclusion: Hopefully this review has been helpful to anyone considering getting Multiplayer Cavemen, but in summary: I didn’t enjoy playing it, I won’t be thinking about it ever again, it’s a chaotic mess of ideas which are half-baked. I hope the developer improves in their future projects.
