I loved this game! It took me a few chapters to get immersed in the story/combat but it was so worth playing through to the end. I really enjoyed the song-casting mechanic and the challenge of memorizing spells and creating my own strategies in combat, there is lots of room to be creative in that regard. I especially enjoyed the boss fights. I also really liked the incorporation of metroidvania elements, it was very satisfying to see my tools and knowledge grow until I could piece together all of the puzzles and story elements hiding across the map. There were multiple details and story beats that made me gasp (of delight, shock, etc!) and I found the story as a whole grew to be very compelling. The game is fairly linear and moderately challenging, but I felt like there was always enough complexity and intrigue to keep me immersed and excited about playing more. Also worth noting, the art is beautiful. I was especially appreciative of the 2D animations and the grounded storytelling happening through character design. I also loved the voice actor for Traveler and the way music effectively plays a role in the storytelling too! There is clearly a lot of love put into every sound and visual element.

I loved the story and the development of it along the way. Unlocking skills along the way was really helpful in guiding me in the right direction. Very straightforward and easy to follow along. Not so complex where it takes away from enjoying the story. Loved the ending. Time goes on, as it always does. If there's a sequel, I am definitely getting it. Also, the studio was helpful on their Discord server when i needed assistance with the game. They responded quite fast.
